Arvid Lindblad has been consistently quick over his career, beginning in karting before a seamless transition to single-seaters.
The British driver enjoyed a superb karting career, winning the British Kart Championship in 2018, before taking more titles.
Towards the end of Lindblad’s career in go-karts, the Red Bull Junior Team signed him as an emerging talent. It saw the Briton gain Red Bull’s support before starting 2022 as a full member of their driver academy.
Lindblad has had a rapid ascent through the junior ranks and moved straight from Italian F4 to FIA Formula 3 in 2024, rather than racing in a regional F3 series such as GB3 or FRECA.
Arvid Lindblad finished third in the Italian F4 Championship in 2023
After a stellar karting career, Lindblad began racing in single-seaters in 2022 in the Italian F4 Championship with a partial campaign.
He was very impressive in the championship’s final three rounds. Lindblad finished all three races he competed in at the Red Bull Ring on his debut Italian F4 weekend.
Italian F4 is one of Europe’s most competitive Formula 4 series, and the field that year also included Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Alex Dunne.
Lindblad scored his first points in car racing at Monza as he gathered experience, learning how to manage downforce and new tracks.
The British driver returned for his first full season in 2023 and was blisteringly fast at the season opener at Imola, taking two second places.
He also won the last race of the weekend at Misano in a highly competitive field, battling Kacper Sztuka and McLaren junior Ugo Ugochukwu.
The first win at Imola was a breakthrough moment in Lindblad’s career, taking victory in a very competitive championship.
He continued to build momentum in the early part of the season, taking a double win at Misano before a podium at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Red Bull junior had been impressive in the opening two rounds while racing for PREMA, who are consistent frontrunners in Italian F4 and many other junior series.
Lindblad’s most eye-catching weekend over the season happened at Monza, where he was the class of the field by taking all three race victories.
The final three rounds were less successful, however, as his championship challenge faded with Lindblad failing to score a podium in a lacklustre stint.
He was consistently in the points and finished all nine races but floundered as Sztuka pulled away, winning eight of the last nine races.
Despite a mixed end to the season in Italy, Lindblad finished third in the standings and developed over the year.
He also competed in the Formula 4 UAE Championship and the Euro 4 Championship, which was a short, three-round series.
But the British driver was so impressive in Italian F4 that Lindblad moved straight from the series to FIA F3 in 2024, skipping series such as FRECA and GB3.
Arvid Lindblad won the Macau Formula 4 Race in 2023
After a strong season in Italian F4 and consistently racing at the sharp end of the championship in 2023, Lindblad also raced in that year’s Macau Formula 4 Race for PREMA.
Macau’s Guia Circuit is a hugely challenging street track that is very tight and twisty as the cars ascend San Francisco Hill before slowing down and negotiating the tightest corner in motorsport, the Melco Hairpin.
The pit straight is also very long and provides a good opportunity for overtaking at the heavy braking zone into Lisboa.
Lindblad was blisteringly fast all weekend at Macau, taking pole position for the Qualifying Race by over half a second to his nearest rival and teammate, Freddie Slater.
The first race of the weekend began with the first two laps under Safety Car conditions as rain hit the circuit as Lindblad led the field.
He kept cool under pressure as Slater challenged for the lead and retained the advantage until the chequered flag.
This success allowed the Red Bull junior to start on pole position for the Final Race ahead of Slater, as the pair of British drivers were the class of the field.
The main race began on a dry circuit and Lindblad kept pole position, resisting a challenge from Slater at Lisboa on the opening lap before a collision further back caused a Safety Car.
As the race returned to green flag conditions, the leading pair set a very high standard – making minimal errors, despite not having much experience on a street circuit.
Slater’s race stalled because of an issue with his car, which slowed him down before the British driver returned to racing speeds at Macau.
This allowed Lindblad a clearer path to victory with his nearest rival eventually finishing down in eighth place.
He kept out of trouble before the Safety Car was deployed once more, ending the race under Safety Car conditions.
His victory at Macau was a superb end to Lindblad’s season, underlining his credentials on a difficult street circuit after driving well in Italian F4.
Arvid Lindblad finished fourth in FIA F3 in 2024 for PREMA
After a superb season in 2023, including a strong campaign in Italian F4 and a victory at Macau, Lindblad stayed with PREMA as he moved up to FIA Formula 3 for the 2024 campaign.
This is a rare move as most drivers tend to race in Formula 4 and then move up to a series such as GB3 or FRECA, which sees a step up in power and downforce.
Some drivers, such as Hugh Barter and Nikola Tsolov, had moved straight from F4 to FIA F3 but they had very mixed fortunes in the championship. So, Lindblad started the season racing in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship over the winter to prepare for F3.
It was a risk for Lindblad but his stint in Formula 3 started in the best possible way with a victory in the Sprint Race at Bahrain.
This win was incredibly impressive as he adapted to a new track and one with the Bahrain International Circuit’s abrasive surface.
Lindblad survived the start and took third place nine laps into the race with a decisive move on Max Esterson at Turn 1.
He remained in the battle for the lead over the 19-lap race, passing Tsolov in the closing stages and taking the lead.
Lindblad followed his first win in Formula 3 by taking second place in the Sprint Race next time out in Australia, keeping up the early momentum.
After Imola and Monaco yielded multiple points-scoring finishes, the PREMA driver returned to the top step of the podium in the Feature at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
His win in Spain was the highlight of a superb weekend as he returned to form on a difficult circuit to master as tyre degradation can be tricky to manage.
Lindblad performed fantastically at his home event, too, by taking two wins at Silverstone after dominating the British Grand Prix weekend. His title rivals, Luke Browning and Leonardo Fornaroli, didn’t stand on the podium in either race.
Momentum was with the British driver but in a similar style to his Italian F4 season in 2023, Lindblad stuttered and faded away from the title battle.
After taking four wins, the Red Bull junior didn’t score a single point in the final three rounds of the season as lacklustre qualifying performances hindered his chances.
Despite a difficult end to the year, Lindblad went into the final round at Monza with a slim chance of taking the FIA F3 title. The championship eventually went to Fornaroli in dramatic circumstances at the end of the Feature Race.
Lindblad missed out on the championship but the British driver’s good work was recognised as he became one of the four finalists for the 2024 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Award.
After just one season in FIA F3, it was also announced that Lindblad would race in Formula 2 for the 2025 season with the Spanish team, Campos Racing.

Lindblad races under a British licence but has dual nationality with British and Swedish through his family. His dad, Stefan Lindblad, is Swedish, and his mother, Anita Ahuja, is of Indian heritage.
His dad’s family were also motorsport enthusiasts and Stefan grew up riding motocross bikes. He also bought Arvid a motocross bike when Lindblad was just three years old.
