Isack Hadjar has been very successful throughout his junior career and fought for the Formula 2 Championship throughout the 2024 season.
The Frenchman has been consistently at the front of the field during his ascent up the ladder towards Formula 1 and is backed by Red Bull.
He finished third in the French F4 Championship in 2020, his second year in the category losing the title to Japanese driver Ayumu Iwasa.
Hadjar was also very close to winning the championship in FIA F3 two years later but lost out to Victor Martins and the end of a tense finale at Monza.
Isack Hadjar fought for the Formula 2 Championship in 2024
Hadjar has moved up the ladder to Formula 1 without winning a junior series championship, but he is on the verge of the paddock after impressing in Formula 2 and has driven in three FP1 sessions to date.
The Frenchman made his F2 debut in 2023, showing moments of brilliance, such as taking a podium at the Red Bull Ring.
His second season was much better, as Hadjar produced a campaign good enough to challenge for the championship after Formula 2 introduced a new one-make car.
The Frenchman regularly scored a lot of points in Feature Races after switching Hitech GP for Campos Racing.
He kicked off the 2024 season with back-to-back retirements in the Feature Races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. But successive Feature Race wins in Australia and at Imola sparked Hadjar’s championship bid into life.
A couple more Feature Race victories also followed at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps. But Hadjar’s title momentum soon halted, failing to score points at Monza and in Azerbaijan, to see Gabriel Bortoleto take the championship lead.
Isack Hadjar finished third in the FIA F3 Championship in 2022
Hadjar performed admirably in French F4, adjusting to single-seaters after a strong career in karting, challenging for multiple championships.
The Frenchman was also very competitive in FRECA, bridging the gap between F4 and FIA F3, winning at Formula 1 venues Monaco and Monza. Hadjar is also highly regarded within the F1 paddock as he gets closer to the highest level.
This experience, particularly at Monaco with the pressure of racing under the watchful eye of Formula 1, allowed Hadjar to be on the pace when in FIA F3.
He raced for Hitech, a consistent frontrunner in the championship, and ran with the distinctive Red Bull livery as part of the junior team.
FIA F3 is a significant step up from more regional F3 championships such as GB3 and FRECA, making it a rare occurrence to see a driver step up and immediately race at the front.
Hadjar went against the trend and kicked off his campaign with a victory in the Sprint Race at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The win was made even more impressive as he saw the chequered flag first in a field that included Martins, Oliver Bearman and Franco Colapinto.
After hitting the ground running Bahrain, he kept up the momentum and scored points in all but four of the races that year.
Hadjar also took two more wins at Silverstone and the Red Bull Ring before stepping up to Formula 2 for the 2023 season.

Most drivers begin their career in single-seaters in Formula 4, a series suited to young drivers stepping up from go-karting in an entry-level single-seater.
French F4 is a high-level championship, and its alumni include Iwasa and Brazilian driver Caio Collet who both won the title.
Hadjar spent two years in the series, learning circuits such as Magny-Cours and Spa-Francorchamps building towards a championship challenge.
In 2020, the Frenchman was on the pace straightaway, taking third place in the first race of the weekend at Nogaro which was followed up by two more trophies at Magny-Cours.
He went on to score a podium finish at every round that season and finally took his first win at the penultimate round of the year at Paul Ricard.
