Paul Aron is one of the top talents on the Formula 2 grid, but there is one victory that escapes the Estonian’s trophy cabinet.
Aron has had a successful junior up to this point, finishing third in Italian Formula 4, the Formula Regional European Championship twice and the Formula 3 championship last season.
So far in his debut season in Formula 2, the Hitech driver has achieved seven podiums and sits third in the standings, with a first win in the series eluding him.
But while he searches for that victory in F2, there is one race in particular that he is looking to conquer.
Paul Aron says he wants to win the Monaco Grand Prix
Taking part in a game of ‘Would you rather’ on the Formula 2 website, Aron was asked if he would rather win his home race or at Monaco.
His home nation, Estonia, has not officially hosted a Grand Prix since before the Second World War in 1936. The country only has one permanent road course; the Porsche Ring, which hosts rounds of the Baltic Touring Car Championship.
Aron has raced on the iconic streets of Monaco in F2 and F3, finishing in third in the feature race on both occasions.
And while he said that would be nice to win his home race – if it ever hosts an event in the series in the future – it is Monaco that Aron is looking to take victory at.
When the question was put to him, he said: “To be honest, I don’t know.
“It’s obviously nice to win a home race but Monaco is the most famous one and I want to win the Monaco Grand Prix.”

Paul Aron is in the hunt for the 2024 Formula 2 title
As the F2 season enters its final four rounds of 2024, Aron is sat 41 points behind championship leader Isack Hadjar and five points behind second place Gabriel Bortoleto.
However, the Estonian comes into the next round at Monza on a bad run of form. He went without points at Silverstone and retired from the feature race in Hungary after colliding with Zane Maloney, handing him a 10-place grid penalty for Belgium.
Spa was a dismal weekend for Aron, as he languished in 18th in the sprint race and was classified in 16th in the feature race after suffering a mechanical failure with a lap to go.
The streets at Baku follow the event at Monza, with the Losail International Circuit in Qatar coming before the season finale in Abu Dhabi in December.
