Full Oversteer has taken a look into the full Formula 2 grid for 2025 with each team’s confirmed driver line-up as the junior series field fills with aspiring Formula 1 names.
The 2025 season will mark the eighth edition of the championship since the GP2 Series was renamed Formula 2. It has also continued to produce a pathway into Formula 1 with Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Mick Schumacher and Oscar Piastri all rising up as F2 champions.
PREMA Racing took Leclerc, Schumacher and Piastri to the Formula 2 title in 2017, 2020 and 2021. The Italian team even had to sign up an entirely new line-up for the 2025 F2 season as Haas and Mercedes signed up PREMA pair Oliver Bearman and Andrea Kimi Antonelli for F1.
Given the nature of Formula 2 being a junior series that requires a big budget, the grid also sees a high turnover of drivers each year. It is estimated that drivers must bring a budget of around $3m (£2m) to do a full season on the Formula 2 grid and race on the F1 support bill.
Some drivers often cannot complete a full season due to the finances, as well, with Williams junior Zak O’Sullivan forced to leave ART Grand Prix due to funding issues before the end of 2024. He proved even those in a Formula 1 driver academy are not assured of success in F2.
So, with that in mind, Full Oversteer runs through the full Formula 2 grid for 2025 with every team’s confirmed driver line-up. As some teams are still to confirm their full line-up for next season, this page will be updated as further team news is announced from the F2 paddock…
