Dino Beganovic will be making the step up to Formula 2, with the 20-year-old being confirmed to be racing for the remainder of the season at DAMS.
The Swedish driver completed his sophomore season in Formula 3 in 2024 with PREMA back in September, where he had a chance a winning the title at the season finale in Monza.
Beganovic ultimately finished the year in sixth and has now been searching for a potential move to the category above. With two rounds to go of the Formula 2 season, he has been given that chance to prove himself in the next step up.
The 20-year-old, who is part of the Ferrari Academy, will be replacing Juan Manuel Correa at the rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The American has endured a difficult campaign with DAMS this year, having registered just five points finishes, including a podium in the Feature Race at Catalunya.

Beganovic had spent his entire junior career with PREMA up to this point, finishing third in his debut year in 2020 in Italian F4 and winning FRECA in 2022.
In his first season in F3 in 2023, the Swedish driver grabbed four podiums as he finished sixth in the standings with 96 points.

Beganovic matched his finish and podium tally in 2024 but secured two wins in the Feature Race at Melbourne and the Sprint Race at Spa as he scored 109 points.
The Ferrari junior had a mathematical chance of winning the title at Monza, but it would ultimately go to Leonardo Fornaroli who will be driving with Invicta Racing in F2 in 2025.
With Correa leaving the team, Beganovic will partner Jak Crawford for the remainder of the season, and the 19-year-old took to Instagram to message his new teammate as he wrote in the comments of the announcement: “Welcome to the team.”

With the 2024 season nearing its end, it is not currently known if Beganovic is in line to secure a full-time F2 seat in 2025, but he will have a great opportunity to put himself in contention for one with DAMS this year.
The 20-year-old’s new teammate Crawford does have his future secure, as he will remain with the French outfit next season.

The American, who is part of the Aston Martin Driver Development Programme, is currently sat fifth in the drivers’ standings with 116 points, having grabbed one win and five podiums so far.
Next season, the 19-year-old will serve as the reserve driver for Andretti in Formula E behind Nico Muller and Jake Dennis. Crawford is also eyeing a reserve role with Aston Martin in 2025 as he hopes to keep his F1 aspirations alive.
