Alex Dunne had a competitive season in Formula 3, stepping up after narrowly missing out on the GB3 Championship.
The Irish driver was immediately on the pace and battled in and around the top 10 at the opening round of the season, taking ninth place in the Feature Race in Bahrain.
Dunne took his first podium of the season in Spain, taking second place in the Sprint Race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in a breakthrough moment for MP Motorsport.
He kept up the momentum at the Red Bull Ring scoring points in both races as he adapted to the championship, which is a significant step up from GB3.
Before racing in FIA F3, he was incredibly successful in the UK, competing for the title in GB3 alongside Callum Voisin and Joseph Loake who also graduated to Formula 3.
Dunne pinpointed his favourite achievement so far when speaking to the official FIA F3 website, something that not even Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri achieved in their careers.

Dunne had a very successful stint in the UK before moving to FIA F3, winning the British F4 Championship and challenging at the front in GB3.
The Irish driver was superb in British F4, winning the championship at a canter, despite skipping the season’s final round at Brands Hatch.
He took 11 victories over the season and was particularly dominant at Snetterton, winning both the first and third races of the weekend.
British F4 has been a very successful championship that has launched the careers of multiple drivers on the Formula 1 grid.
Lando Norris won the championship in 2015, while Oscar Piastri was competitive over the campaign but couldn’t match Jamie Caroline.

Dunne explained taking the record for the most wins in a single British F4 season is his favourite achievement, although DeagenFairclough set a new benchmark this season with 14 wins.
He said: “Probably breaking the record for most wins in a season in British F4. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.
“Of course, I’ve had good moments before and wins here and there but to break the record, especially when the likes of Lando Norris have raced in that Championship before and Oscar Piastri – to break that record was pretty special. I knew by the time I had eight or nine that I was getting close, so I had a good idea I was going to do it.”

Dunne had moments of brilliance during his rookie season in Formula 3, and slowly developed confidence with a new car and Pirelli’s tricky tyres.
The Irish driver performed well at the final round of the season at Monza, finishing third and fourth over the weekend, which should be a confidence boost if he returns in 2025.
There is also more pressure on a second-year driver returning to the championship. They are more familiar with the circuits, although the lack of testing has affected multiple drivers, including Sebastian Montoya.
