Alex Palou is the hottest commodity in IndyCar right now, having claimed three championships in four seasons and quashed his rivals on regular occasions.
The combination of the Spaniard with Chip Ganassi machinery is so well-oiled, that only one man has managed to beat them over the last four years.
Will Power came close to doing that for a second time in 2024 but fell at the last hurdle as Palou’s mega consistency contributed to helping him win yet another title.
He returns for 2025 with an IndyCar team that has downsized its operation and has increased focus on his efforts – an ominous sign for the rest of the field.
Alexander Rossi makes ‘wild’ inbox claim about Alex Palou
Alexander Rossi is a man who knows a thing or two about winning in IndyCar, having eclipsed the infamous Indy 500 in 2016 and managed another seven victories on top of that.
Talking on his Off Track with Hinch and Rossi podcast, he discussed his rival’s incredible performances and manic career over the past few years.
He even showed signs of being fed up with his dominance already, sighing at one point when mentioning his form.

“Three titles, one baby, two lawsuits, four years. He has been very busy. His inbox must be wild. What he’s able to do year in, year out is pretty frustrating, but very impressive.
“He’s going to be the guy to beat for the foreseeable future, there’s no question about it.”
Will Rossi be competing alongside Palou in 2025?
Palou is the only confirmed driver at Chip Ganassi for next year, with Scott Dixon and Kyffin Simpson expected to be announced alongside him.
Rossi shared no hints about his whereabouts during his podcast, but James Hinchcliffe did say that a ‘big’ announcement was coming soon.
That indicates that the American driver has a deal in place for next season and beyond, after refusing a one-year extension with McLaren earlier on in the year.

Now it remains to be seen where he is going to end up – at an established team like Rahal Letterman Lanigan, or a newcomer like PREMA.
Wherever he decides to go, his experience and raw talent should carry him through and present him with the opportunity to win more IndyCar races in the future.
He made it no secret how disappointed he was not to win in 2024, so he will be desperate to return to the top step of the rostrum in double quick time.
