Conor Daly is aiming for a full-time drive in IndyCar for the 2025 season after a partial campaign at Juncos Hollinger Racing.
The American raced in the final five rounds of the season in the No. 78 car, replacing Agustin Canapino, as JHR was under pressure to get the car into the Leader’s circle.
Daly performed well, particularly on the ovals. He took 13th place at Gateway and third place at the Milwaukee Mile in IndyCar.
These good performances pushed the car into the top 22 in the standings, enough to earn it a spot in the Leaders’ Circle and the $1 million prize.
Despite helping Juncos Hollinger Racing, Daly doesn’t have a drive for 2025. He explained on his YouTube channel how the US elections had tweaked his plans.
Potential sponsors were waiting for the results of the US election
Daly is pushing to return to the IndyCar grid, and his results during the brief stint at Juncos should only help him cause as he was brought in mid-way through the season.
The American driver has been reliable whenever he’s driven in IndyCar, and he’s competitive on ovals, road, and street courses.
To keep sharp, he also raced in GT World Challenge America and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as he couldn’t find a full-time IndyCar drive.

He explained that there are still opportunities to race in the championship next season, although the elections slightly complicated things.
He said: “When it comes to my programme, I would say we made some good progress last week and talking to some sponsors. This week, if I’m honest with you guys, and this is not to get political at all, but the election is big for businesses, right?
“So it doesn’t matter which way, which side you’re on. The election is super important for any sponsor that you talk to, just because it gives us an idea of what might happen next. So a lot of people can’t really make decisions until after, literally today [7th of November], today is voting day.
“We have a few things that are like, ‘All right, we got to just see how it goes, and we’ll find out on the other side.’
Conor Daly has five seats available in IndyCar for 2025
Daly has some options available for next season in IndyCar, but the grid is populating quickly as the season draws nearer.
PREMA recently announced Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman, who Daly thinks will be suffering next season as it is a young team.
Daly has two seats available at Juncos, two at Dale Coyne Racing and one open spot left at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for 2025.
He may have opportunities to get onto the grid and his experience of the championship may help him get a seat.
