Plenty of names have been linked with various IndyCar seats for 2025, but one of the most attractive vacancies remaining is with Meyer Shank Racing.
The American outfit took six top 10 finishes from the first seven races of the season, but since tailing off, have struggled to replicate that sort of form.
They’ve already decided one half of their line-up for next season, with David Malukas tied down on a multi-year agreement.
He brings plenty of raw speed to the team, but they may be looking to partner him with a little more experience to make sure they can extract the most from their machines at IndyCar events.
Mike Shank declares ‘nothing’s decided’ on 2025 driver decision
A few other teams are also yet to make some big calls on their line-ups, with the incoming PREMA outfit also having two seats which will command some experience if they are to get up to speed quickly in the sport.
But Shank is in no rush to make a decision yet, and confirmed October 1 as the date for when the announcement will be made public.

“We haven’t chosen anyone,” Shank told RACER. “But all those people you’re hearing about like Marcus Armstrong, Linus Lundqvist, Louis Foster, they’re all in play.
“We talked to Alex Rossi. We’re still working on it. And some of the reason it isn’t done yet is budget-driven.
“We’re trying to figure that side out right now, so nothing’s decided until we have the budget sorted.”
Could Alexander Rossi be a good option for Meyer Shank?
Without a doubt, Alexander Rossi is the best driver left on the market for the 2025 season, bringing bags of winning IndyCar experience across various teams.
He will be able to offer a lot of advice to Malukas, and bring plenty of setup knowledge to some of the circuits where the team need help.

His swansong season with McLaren hasn’t quite gone the way he would’ve hoped, but it’s fair to say he would’ve been even better off than ninth in the drivers’ standings without so much bad luck.
Marcus Armstrong and Louis Foster – the new Indy NXT champion, are both exciting and proven race winning options too, with the former bringing a little experience to the fold too.
Linus Lundqvist is the 2024 IndyCar Rookie of the Year too, so Meyer Shank have the talent to pick from in front of them, but as the budget talks reveals – Rossi may be top of that list if they can manage their funds.
