Prema’s eagerly anticipated two-car entry for the 2025 IndyCar season is beginning to take shape with an all-new headquarters in Indiana.
The Italian team have been incredibly successful in European junior racing, winning championships in FIA Formula 2 and a range of other series.
Their alumni include current F1 drivers Charles Leclerc, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon who have all taken victory at the highest level.
The team will step up to IndyCar next year in North America for the first time with two Chevrolet-powered cars on a full-time basis.
The 100,000-square-foot base is planned to be operational by September and has room to accommodate sister team Iron Lynx. They run the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh in the IMSA SportsCar Championship.
Prema are already employing top talent in preparation for 2025
Team Principal Rene Rosin said via autosport.com has taken on Piers Phillips who will serve as IndyCar CEO for the team.
He has worked for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and has a vast wealth of experience in the championship which could be critical as the Italian team looks to adjust to American culture.
“I already have a few people starting now, let’s say we already agree on 50% of the staff,” Rosin said. “Of course, more people will be available when the season finishes.
“People from Europe, when the Formula 2 and Formula 3 seasons finish, because we want to bring some people from Prema within the Prema US entity.
“There will be a mix of interaction between East and West, let’s say, and so for that I need more time, but we already have a plan that 50% is already secured.”

Prema is yet to announce who their drivers will be for their debut in IndyCar, and they are focusing on creating a competitive team off the track with mechanics and engineers.
F1 driver Logan Sargeant is possible, and the American wouldn’t need to adjust to the culture, although he has raced outside North America consistently since 2017.
The Williams driver could be on the market as his lacklustre performances in Formula 1 alongside teammate Alex Albon have done little to impress team boss James Vowles.
Rosin said: “I’m sitting down now, concentrating on building up the remaining mechanics and engineers.
“There are people coming from Europe, people coming from different part of the world. We are really looking forward to September, October when the people we start working together in our facilities in Fishers. And drivers is now the next topic. We have a certain idea.”
