Full Oversteer has taken a look at the full Moto2 grid ahead of the 2025 season with the confirmed rider line-up for each team in the intermediate class.
Ai Ogura will graduate from Moto2 as the champion to make his MotoGP debut in 2025 with Trackhouse Racing. Fermin Aldeguer is also moving up to the premier class with Gresini after signing with Ducati.
Jake Dixon, meanwhile, is moving teams ahead of the new Moto2 season with the British rider switching to ELF Marc VDS after a stint with the Aspar Team.
Spaniard Sergio Garcia will also remain in the championship for another year, competing for the MT Helmets – MSi team.
There will be a lot of talented rookies on the 2025 Moto2 grid with 2024 Moto3 champion David Alonso racing for the CFMoto Aspar Team alongside Moto3 title rival, Daniel Holgado.
So, with that in mind, Full Oversteer has taken a look into the full Moto2 grid for 2025 with every team’s confirmed rider line-ups…
Marc VDS Racing Team: Filip Salac and Jake Dixon
Marc VDS are retaining Filip Salac for the 2025 Moto2 season after he joined the team in 2024, slowly improving over the season and finishing third in the Grand Prix of Japan.
Italian rider Tony Arbolino won’t be returning to the Belgian outfit and will be replaced by Dixon, who will be racing in Moto2 for a fourth season.
MT Helmets – MSi: Sergio Garcia and Ivan Ortola
Garcia will stay with the MT Helmets – MSi team in 2025 and will be looking to build on his two years of experience in the Moto2 championship.
The Spaniard enjoyed a strong first year with MT Helmets in 2024 and emerged as a title contender after early-season wins at the Circuit of the Americas and the Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans.
MT Helmets will also run with another Spanish rider in 2025 with Ivan Ortola stepping up from Moto3 to the next step on the ladder towards MotoGP.
The Spanish pair will be looking to follow in Ogura’s footsteps, who won the 2024 Moto2 title with MT Helmets.
Speed Up Racing: Celestino Vietti and Alonso Lopez
Speed Up Racing will have an all-new rider line-up during the 2025 Moto2 season with Celestino Vietti and Alonso Lopez.
Vietti is returning for his fifth season in the Moto2 championship and will be looking to improve on his past form to challenge for the title again.
The Italian rider is a multiple-time race winner in the series, proving he can compete at the front in Moto2 but failed to see out a title challenge in 2022.
Lopez is also returning for his fifth campaign in the championship and fourth full campaign with Speed Up Racing.
Forward Racing: Alex Escrig and Xavier Artigas
Alex Escrig will return to Moto2 in 2024 after again signing with Forward Racing, having ridden off-and-on for the team through the last two-and-a-bit years.
Compatriot Xavier Artigas will also partner the Spaniard as he returns to the championship for a second season.
Artigas will be looking to build more experience after racing in Moto3 for four years before graduating to Moto2 in 2024.
Escrig will also be looking to improve after floundering at the back of the field during his first full season in Moto2 with Forward Racing in 2024.
CFMoto Aspar Team: David Alonso and Daniel Holgado
Alonso has signed with the CFMoto Aspar Team for his debut in Moto2 after winning the Moto3 title in style. The Colombian often dominated the lightweight class in 2024 with multiple race wins, including taking three and later five in a row.
Alonso was quick to adapt to Moto3 and now moves up to the next level after just two full seasons in the championship.
Holgado will partner the Colombian as he also moves up from Moto3 to Moto2 in 2025, which means the Aspar Team will be racing with two rookies on the grid.
Fantic Racing: Aron Canet and Barry Baltus
Aron Canet has been racing in the Moto2 championship since 2020 and is continuing with the Italian team, Fantic Racing.
The team are retaining Canet after he showed pure pace in Portugal to finally claim a Moto2 race win at the Algarve International Circuit early in the 2024 season.
Canet will also be joined by Barry Baltus at Fantic in 2025, with the Belgian rider returning to Moto2 for a fifth consecutive season in the championship.
Baltus will be looking to improve further yet in Moto2 during 2025 after securing the Fantic ride having failed to put together a title-challenging campaign in the past when he lacked consistency.
Idemitsu Honda Team Asia: Mario Aji and Yuki Kunii
Indonesian rider Mario Aji is being retained by Honda Team Asia for the 2025 Moto2 season after competing for the team in his first campaign in 2024.
Aji will be partnered by Japanese rider Yuki Kunii, who will debut in Moto2 after three years in Moto3 from 2019-2021 where he struggled at the back of the field for much of that time.
The Honda Team Asia outfit will be looking to improve after sitting in the midfield for much of 2024, lacking the ultimate speed to compete for wins.
Italtrans Racing Team: Diogo Moreira and Adrian Huertas
The Italtrans Racing Team are retaining Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira for 2025 despite him suffering a difficult rookie season in Moto2.
Moreira will be looking to build more consistency alongside his teammate Adrian Huertas, who is taking an unorthodox route to the championship.
The Spaniard didn’t compete in Moto3, which is the traditional step on the ladder below Moto2, instead opting to race in the Supersport World Championship for three seasons.
He was overlooked by teams in World Superbikes and will be looking to hit the ground running in Moto2 in 2025.
Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP: Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius
Manuel Gonzalez will swap Gresini for the Husqvarna Intact GP team as the Spanish rider continues in Moto2 for another season after finally taking his first victory in the series.
He won at Twin Ring Motegi after consistent points finishes and two podiums earlier in the 2024 season, finishing third in Portugal and at Jerez plus second at Mugello.
Senna Aguis is staying with the German team for a third season after showing improvement in 2024, including finishing third at home in the Australian Grand Prix for his first podium in Moto2.
American Racing Team: Joe Roberts and Marcos Ramirez
Joe Roberts will stick with the American Racing team for 2025 after a mixed season in 2024, winning in Italy before retiring in Great Britain and at Aragon.
The American rider failed to start the race in the Netherlands or later in Australia, which cost him valuable points in the championship and a potential promotion to MotoGP.
Roberts will again be partnered by Spaniard Marcos Ramirez, who is also staying with the American Racing team for another season in Moto2.
Preicanos Racing Team: Jaume Masia and TBC
Preicanos Racing Team, formerly SAG Team until mid-2024, have retained Jaume Masia for his second season in Moto2 after a tricky first campaign in the intermediate class.
The Spaniard struggled to score consistent points in Moto2 as he stepped up to the heavier machinery after winning the 2023 Moto3 title.
Preicanos Racing Team could even run an all-Spanish line-up of riders in the 2025 Moto2 season as Daniel Munoz is a contender to earn a full-time ride in 2025.
Munoz initially stepped up to the intermediate class with SAG Team to replace Bo Bendsneyder, who he then stepped in for again to see out the remainder of 2024 when Preicanos and the Dutchman decided to part ways in September.
Gresini Racing Moto2: Darryn Binder and Albert Arenas
After a mixed year, Gresini Racing will retain Spaniard Albert Arenas for another Moto2 season after he competed with the team in 2024.
The Italian team are also welcoming South African rider Darryn Binder as he moves over from Intact GP.
Binder had some good performances over the 2024 season, including finishing fifth in Indonesia and consistently finishing inside the top 15.
Arenas performed at a similar level during his fourth season in Moto2, scoring points consistently over the year.
Red Bull KTM Ajo – Deniz Oncu and Collin Veijer
Red Bull KTM Ajo are retaining Deniz Oncu for the 2025 Moto2 season after a tricky first year in the championship. Fracturing his left wrist and hand in a training accident in July 2024 hindered the Turkish rider’s adjustment after graduating from Moto3.
The Finnish team still took two victories in the middle of the season through Vietti, who moves to Speed Up for 2025, but lacked the raw pace over the campaign to challenge for the title.
Oncu will be looking to develop further after his first season in the Moto2 championship, learning the bike and the tracks over a race weekend.
He is also the experienced Ajo rider in Moto2, as Collin Veijer is graduating to the intermediate class with the team after emerging as a race winner in Moto3 during 2024 for Intact GP.
RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP: Ayumu Sasaki and Zonta van den Goorbergh
RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP will run Japanese rider Ayumu Sasaki and Dutchman Zonta van den Goorbergh as their rider line-up for the 2025 Moto2 season.
The Dutch team are welcoming Sasaki as he embarks on a second season in the championship, moving across from the Yamaha VR46 MasterCamp Team.
Van den Goorbergh also improved over his first three seasons in Moto2, gathering experience on the circuits and improving his consistency.
The Dutchman endured a difficult start to the 2024 season, but he did finish fifth in Japan for his first top-five result in Moto2.
Pramac Yamaha: Tony Arbolino and Izan Guevara
Pramac Racing are replacing the VR46-run MasterCamp outfit as Yamaha’s partner in Moto2 for the 2025 season following their tie-up in MotoGP.
Yamaha enjoyed an eight-year rider development partnership with VR46, which saw the team Valentino Rossi founded run MasterCamp in Moto2.
But Pramac will now take over operating Yamaha’s Moto2 team and have signed Arbolino plus Izan Guevara to form their 2025 rider line-up, while also switching from Kalex to Speed Up chassis.
Arbolino’s experience from his four seasons in Moto2, including the past three with Marc VDS, and 2022 Moto3 champion Guevara’s two with Aspasr could help the Pramac Yamaha team to progress.
