The NASCAR calendar is mainly made up of ovals with very few road and street circuits which makes being quick on ovals very important.
Ross Chastain took a superb victory last time out at Kansas Speedway, his first victory of the season for TrackHouse Racing, despite Daniel Suarez being quicker earlier in the weekend in NASCAR.
Harvick explained that Chastain is a hard worker and very underrated despite him putting in more effort than many other drivers.

He said: “But I think it’s trying to overcome those weaknesses that you have as a driver. When you find an outlet to do that, you hear Ross talk about going to the Skip Barber School of driving and just does that stuff on his own.
“He is definitely underrated from the amount of work that he puts in. I think it just comes second nature to him.”

Chastain endured a difficult start to the season in NASCAR and finally stood on the podium for the first time this season at Kansas Speedway.
The American driver has scored multiple top-five finishes this season but hasn’t quite been quick enough to be in contention in the playoffs.
Despite not being at the very sharp end of the field, Chastain has finished in the top 10 in the last three races.
He will be hoping for more success this weekend at Talladega, although he struggled at that track last year, finishing in 23rd and and 37th over the two events.
