Team Penske are a force to be reckoned with across all walks of motorsport, and this weekend they wrapped up yet another honour in style.
Their cars finished one-two in the NASCAR playoffs Championship 4 race, underlining just how effective they are as a unit.
Joey Logano claimed his third Cup Series title to ensure that his name rests above everyone in the conversation of the best driver of the modern championship era.
He wouldn’t have been able to do it without one of the best-oiled operations in NASCAR though, and Team Penske are one of the very best.
Team Penske is the ‘best team’ in NASCAR
You only need to take one look at their IndyCar program to see just how good they are at having multiple drivers in contention for victories and championships every year.
All three of their single-seater drivers – Will Power, Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin are serious threats and it’s the same in NASCAR with Ryan Blaney, Logano, and many others.
Speaking on the Happy Hour podcast, former NASCAR star Kevin Harvick listed this as one of the reasons for Logano’s third championship.

“This is a team, and we heard him say it after the race – I may not be the best, but I have the best team,” he said.
“I think that never was that more evident than in the way that you saw Sunday play out with the jackman being changed, the restarts that Joey got and the calls.
“Everything that came together throughout the weekend for those guys is exactly what came together throughout the whole year.”
Can Logano secure a fourth title in 2025?
Looking ahead to 2025, it’s hard to tell whether Logano can produce a repeat of his heroics, having won this title with some fortune.
He was close to playoff elimination on multiple occasions but managed to scrape through right until the end and keep his name in the hat when it mattered.
His average finish position of 17.11 is the worst of any NASCAR Cup Series champion and he won’t always be on the receiving end of good luck.
The likes of Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson will be desperate to avenge their premature eliminations and fight for another championship.
That’s without mentioning all the other drivers who will be mythed that they failed to win it all in 2024, particularly Ryan Blaney who came within 0.330 seconds of the feat.
