Daniil Kvyat has endured a difficult season with Lamborghini Iron Lynx in the World Endurance Championship, scoring points just once.
The former Formula 1 driver has driven well despite the Italian manufacturer’s lack of speed, making few errors.
He has adjusted to endurance racing after spending much of his career in single-seaters, climbing the ladder to Formula 1 before racing at the highest level.
Kvyat has suffered from lacklustre results, including two retirements, the last time out at the 6 Hours of Fuji and earlier in the year at Spa-Francorchamps.
Lamborghini are heading into the season’s final round at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, looking to gather data ahead of 2025. They have a slim chance of passing Cadillac in the Manufacturer’s standings.
Kvyat explained to the official Lamborghini website that the Italian team have shown signs of progress, but there are concerns about heading into Bahrain.

The season’s final round at the Bahrain International Circuit will provide a good opportunity for Lamborghini to learn ahead of 2025.
They will be able to gather data over eight hours of racing in differing track temperatures as the race begins in the daytime before the track cools down at night.
This should help them improve their understanding of how to maximise their car, which is extra critical as they only have one car compared to Ferrari, which has three entries.
Tyre management is incredibly important in Bahrain as the surface is very abrasive, making the tyres hard to manage over a stint.

Kvyat explained that Lamborghini will have to be careful with tyre management during the eight-hour race to achieve a good result.
He said: “We’ve shown some good signs lately and more speed in the car, so hopefully, we can finish the year on a positive note.
“For sure, tyre management will be a big concern here because tyre degradation is quite high, it’s an abrasive track so we must be careful. Choosing the right compounds will also be important, and getting the most out of those tyres in the race will be the key to a good result, I believe.”
Another points-scoring finish for Lamborghini would lift them ahead of 2025
It has been a very difficult season for Lamborghini who have scored points on just one occasion this season in Belgium.
They lack raw speed and are slower than the frontrunners Porsche and Toyota, who are battling for the Manufacturers’ Championship.
A clean race and keeping out of trouble could lead to Lamborghini scoring points, as Cadillac’s Sebastien Bourdais is also concerned about tyres.
It would give them a boost ahead of 2025, where they can return to the World Endurance Championship with a year of experience to learn from.
