Giovinazzi was successful throughout his junior career on the way to Formula 1, finishing second in British F3 in 2013 before winning in Masters of Formula 3 title two years later.
The Italian driver went on to race in Formula 1 for three full seasons after undertaking a role as a reserve and third driver for Alfa Romeo and Haas. Giovinazzi also took up a reserve driver role for Ferrari and Haas again after losing his seat on the Formula 1 grid.

Giovinazzi raced at Le Mans for the first time for AF Corse in the LMGTE Pro class in 2018 before landing a full-time drive in Formula 1 with Alfa Romeo the following season.
After three years in F1 alongside Kimi Raikkonen at the back of the field and a single season in Formula E for Penske Motorsport, he moved to WEC.
The Italian driver drove the No. 51 car beginning in 2023 as Ferrari entered the Hypercar class. Giovinazzi was part of a formidable line-up alongside his compatriot Alessandro Pier Guidi and British driver James Calado.
Giovinazzi’s first race in the top category of the World Endurance Championship ended in a seventh-place finish at the 1000 Miles of Sebring.
It was an underwhelming start as they were beaten by the sister Ferrari, who finished third behind the highly experienced Toyota pair.
A slight improvement followed next time out in Portugal, finishing sixth at Portimao before the trio stood on the podium for the first time at Spa-Francorchamps.
The No. 51 Ferrari began to hit a run of form at the right time just before the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both Ferraris were blisteringly fast from the outset, taking the front two positions on the grid.
Giovinazzi qualified second on the grid ahead of the No. 8 Toyota as the Italian team laid down a marker ahead of the race.
Toyota and Ferrari battled at the front in the opening hour before heavy rain hit the circuit. The No. 51 Ferrari stayed on the circuit as the sister car, and the No. 7 Toyota suffered from issues and were out of contention for victory.
Giovinazzi and his teammates won by more than a minute ahead of their nearest rivals, the No. 8 Toyota, which had been so successful at Le Mans in the LMP1 era.
Antonio Giovinazzi raced in Formula 1 for Alfa Romeo from 2019-2021
After an excellent junior career and battling for multiple championships, Giovinazzi raced in his first full-time season in Formula 1 in 2019 for Alfa Romeo.
The Italian debuted two years earlier by starting two races in 2017 for Sauber, replacing Pascal Wehrlein after the German got injured at the Race of Champions.
Giovinazzi had two indifferent performances alongside Marcus Ericsson, taking 12th place at the season opener in Australia and retiring at the Shanghai International Circuit after crashing into the pit wall on a damp track.
Despite the incident in China, the Italian was chosen to replace the outgoing Charles Leclerc for 2019 but failed to score a point until the French Grand Prix, driving to P10.
He returned to the points on three more occasions throughout his first full year in Formula 1, scoring consecutive top-10 finishes in Italy and Singapore.
The highlight of his first F1 season arrived towards the end of the year in Brazil with a drive to fifth place as Raikkonen finished in P4.
After 2019, the following season started superbly with a ninth-place finish at a chaotic season-opening race in Austria.
Only two more finishes in the points occurred for Giovinazzi at the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring and another 10th-place finish at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
In 2021, the situation was very similar to previous seasons for Giovinazzi with points finishes few and far between over the campaign.
A 12th-place finish in the first round of the season in Bahrain set up a year on the fringes of the midfield until a point was finally scored at Monaco in P10.
Saudi Arabia yielded Giovinazzi’s final points of the season in Formula 1 on a hectic night in Jeddah before the Italian retired from the year’s final round in Abu Dhabi.
