JOTA are set for pastures new in the World Endurance Championship in 2025 as they move over to Cadillac.
The British outfit have been a Porsche customer team since 2023 and finished top in the World Cup for Hypercar Teams standings last season – albeit there were only two customer teams on the grid.
In 2024, the team are running two Porsche 963’s and secured their first win in the Hypercar class at Spa through the No. 12 car, driven by Callum Illot, Will Stevens and Norman Nato, although Nato missed the event due to his commitments in Formula E.
As a manufacturer, Porsche are leading the standings by 10 points over Toyota having won three wins each. As a team, JOTA have claimed their second World Cup for Hypercar Teams title in a row with a round to spare over Ferrari’s AF Corse team.
While they have enjoyed success with Porsche, JOTA are moving on in 2025 to take over from Chip Ganassi Racing at Cadillac, and speaking with Autosport, team principal Dieter Gass has outlined their plans for their engineers before next season.

Cadillac are currently running one V-Series R in the WEC this season, with the team achieving a best finish of fourth at Lone Star Le Mans in Austin through Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn.

The American outfit run two machines in IMSA, with CGR and Action Express Racing running one each in the GTP class. The championship hosts its final round of the season on October 12 at Road Atlanta for Petit Le Mans.
Ahead of their WEC takeover, Gass explained that it is likely some JOTA engineers will go to the IMSA race to get to grips with the V-Series R, but stressed he wanted to avoid ‘troubles’ with the regulations due to the series’ restrictions on personnel.
Asked about the possibility of Jota machines going to the IMSA event at Road Atlanta, he replied: “Very possible that something like this is happening. [With] tests [yes], we need to see [if it is possible in] races [as well].
“Again it all needs to be confirmed but I think there is going to be an exchange of personnel as well [and] potentially American engineers [will] join us.
“For us with the personnel restrictions maybe it’s not as easy as going to IMSA [as IMSA engineers going to WEC, so that we don’t get into troubles with the regulations there.
“But for testing and things like that, that’s likely to happen.”
Who will drive for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA next season?
As the 2025 season will see Cadillac run two cars under the name Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, speculation has grown as to who will drive for the team.
It has been reported that Bamber and Lynn have already signed to stay with the team, while Sebastien Bourdais is expected to join as a full-time driver having raced for Cadillac in Qatar.
Stevens and Nato are expected to move over from Porsche with JOTA to Cadillac, with Jenson Button said to be the favourite to take the final seat.
However, despite confirming talks with Cadillac, Button provided a cryptic answer about his WEC future, casting doubt over whether he will remain in the series.
