Mick Schumacher is yet to confirm his future plans for 2025 after the conclusion of the World Endurance Championship season.
The German competed for Alpine and made gradual improvements throughout the year, culminating with a podium in Fiji.
He hinted that he may return there again next year, but he may also be looking at reviving his single-seater racing career.
He’s already a Formula 1 reserve driver and competed for a seat this year, but may have one eye on a full-time to the sport for 2026.

IndyCar could be an option if Schumacher wants to get back into open-wheel racing, and there may be an enticing opening with a former employer.
PREMA have already hired Callum Illott – who competed for the 2020 Formula 2 title with the German, so they know each other well.
Speaking to Motorsport Week in Bahrain, he discussed what cost him in qualifying for the 8-hour race in the desert.

“There were obviously some points there such as tyre warm-up, which wasn’t great. It was a bit impeded by some of the cars around us not being in a great position.
“At that point, just because we were doing something and some people were doing another kind of strategy, by bedding in some tyres, we were a bit impeded, and therefore our tyres weren’t quite ready into the first lap, and then by the second lap they weren’t quite there any more.”
How did Schumacher fall out of Formula 1 favour?
It has already been two years since Schumacher had a full-time drive in Formula 1 when he raced for Haas.
He struggled with their car, suffering from multiple accidents, which ultimately dented his confidence and cost him his place on the grid.
He didn’t have the most support while in that role, and since moving to Mercedes, he has worked to rebuild his confidence.

He went head-to-head with Jack Doohan for a 2025 drive at Alpine but failed to impress enough for the seat.
He hasn’t given up on his single-seater career yet though, and believes that he can find his way back into the sport soon.
