Arvid Lindblad made the step up to Formula 3 for the 2024 season, and the Brit certainly made an impression in the series.
At 17 years old, the Red Bull junior driver was the youngest on the Formula 3 grid this season as he drove with PREMA Racing alongside Gabriele Mini and Dino Beganovic.
Lindblad made the move up from Formula 4, having finished third in Italian F4, fourth in the Euro 4 Championship and fifth in the Formula 4 UAE Championship in 2023,
Despite having limited experience with F3 machinery, Lindblad shown his talent right from the off as he finished the season as the highest-placed rookie in fourth.
Arvid Lindblad lauds Barcelona and Silverstone performances as ‘huge’ for his ‘strong’ F3 debut season
All three PREMA drivers had a mathematical chance of winning the F3 title heading into the final round at Monza, but Lindblad would ultimately finish 40 points behind the champion Leonardo Fornaroli, with Mini finishing second and Beganovic sixth.
Lindblad claimed four wins across the season – the most of any other driver – with his first coming at the season opener in the Sprint Race in Bahrain.

The other three wins came at the Feature Race in Barcelona and both races at his home event at Silverstone in a dominant weekend for the 17-year-old. Speaking with the F3 website, Lindblad outlined those two races as ‘huge’ for his season as he was able to keep up the progression from pre-season testing and his win in Bahrain.
Reflecting on his season, he said: “It was a very good year. Going in I knew it was going to be really challenging, really difficult, I’d only done one year of F4 before this so I had very little experience.
“I knew majority of the tracks but not all and with the way the format is it was going to be really challenging. Also, with how little driving time there was I knew it was going to be difficult and the level is so high as well.
“I am really grateful to everyone at Red Bull, everyone at PREMA, everyone on my team as well who prepared me and got me ready. I feel like we prepared really well from the Jerez test to Bahrain and made a massive step forward.
“But I kept that trajectory up to Barcelona and also to Silverstone and I think both of those were huge factors which led to a strong year, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I knew one year was going to be difficult, that was the target to try and do only one, but I knew it was going to be a big ask.
“But a lot of people around me did an amazing job and helped me to achieve this strong result. Overall, it was an incredible season, really happy with it, some things to still work on but overall, really happy.”
Arvid Lindblad will move up to Formula 2 in 2025
After an incredible debut season in F3, Lindblad is already making the next step up as he will move to Formula 2 for the 2025 season.
Lindblad will be driving with Campos Racing next year, who are well-established at this level and will provide the Brit the tools to fight at the front.

Campos have a good reputation with Red Bull juniors. Isack Hadjar is currently second in the 2024 standings as he looks to fight Gabriel Bortoleto for the title with two rounds to go.
With Lindblad potentially replacing Hadjar next year and at such a young age, there will be pressure to perform. But given his record so far, the Brit will no doubt be one to watch next season.
