Lucas di Grassi has competed in every season of Formula E since its inception in 2014.
The Brazilian has had great experience in several categories throughout his career, including GP2, Formula 1 with Virgin Racing in 2010 and he also raced in the World Endurance Championship from 2012 to 2016.
Di Grassi started his Formula E career with Audi Sport ABT in the inaugural 2014/15 season, where he finished third. He would go one better a year later, finishing second to Sebastien Buemi by just two points.
Season Three would be Di Grassi’s year as he claimed the FE title over Buemi with 181 points. The Brazilian would then do his championship results in reverse, finishing second and third in the next two seasons, with 2018/19 being the last time he has finished in the top three of the standings.
Di Grassi will continue with ABT for the 2024/25 season as FE heads into the highly anticipated Gen3 Evo era, but the Brazilian has another reason to be excited about the new campaign.

FE is always trying to expand into new territories with street circuits in new nation, with some of the latest being a race in Portland, Cape Town and Hyderabad.

FE are looking to get a race set up in Thailand, but political changes in the nation have put a severe dent into those plans. FE are currently trying to salvage the Thailand ePrix as they look to fill the last remaining slot on the calendar for Season 11.
It has been confirmed that the Sao Paulo ePrix will host the season opener on December 7, with di Grassi taking to X to share his delight for his home nation running the first race of the season, as he wrote in Portuguese: “Formula E is officially in São Paulo for the opening of the championship!”
Plans for a race in Brazil date back to FE’s first season with the idea of having a race in Rio de Janeiro, but it fell through due to technical issues. Di Grassi himself had planned a race at Ibirapuera Park, but political changes made this impossible.
While plans for a Sao Paulo ePrix were made back in 2017/18, an agreement was only reached in 2022, with the city hosting its inaugural race that year. In the two races Sao Paulo have ran so far, Mitch Evans and Sam Bird have claimed victory.

Lucas di Grassi will remain with ABT for the 2024/25 season
As the FE ‘silly season’ continues, di Grassi has confirmed that he will remain with ABT for Season 11.
The 40-year-old is the oldest driver on the grid and has spent all but two seasons with the ABT name. Di Grassi had spent his entire FE career from 2014 to 2021 with Audi Sport ABT before Audi quit the sport and the Brazilian joined Venturi for Season Eight.
Di Grassi joined Mahindra for the 2022/23 campaign before he signed with ABT-Lola for Season 10. Last year, the Brazilian endured a torrid season, scoring just four points as he finished 23rd in the standings.
ABT are yet to confirm the Brazilian’s teammate for Season 11, with Nico Muller leaving the team to join Andretti.
