Formula E will see a flurry of new line-ups in 2024/25, so Full Oversteer looks at every team’s confirmed driver and their contracts for Season 11 entering the GEN3 EVO era.
Silly season regularly delivers in Formula E as teams often chop and change their driver line-ups. The 2024/25 Formula E season will also see the all-electric series adapt to a new car as the GEN3 EVO hits the grid. It is a new challenge that many teams want a new driver to face.
There is also a new title to fight over in Season 11 as the FIA introduces the Formula E World Championship title for Manufacturers. Some teams even moved early to lock in their Season 11 line-ups, as DS Penske and Maserati replaced Stoffel Vandoorne and Maximilian Gunther.
Vandoorne quickly gained the Belgian’s new home on the Formula E grid as Maserati signed the 2022 drivers’ champion in July 2024. Maserati also signed Jake Hughes on the same day that McLaren announced the Briton’s departure after two seasons with the Formula E team.
So, with that in mind, Full Oversteer takes a look into the full grid for the 2024/25 Formula E campaign and the length of contract every driver has signed ahead of the start of Season 11.
Jaguar – Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy
- Mitch Evans contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
- Nick Cassidy contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
Jaguar gifted Mitch Evans a multi-year contract extension in August 2023 after racing for the British team since the 2016/17 Formula E season. It is unconfirmed how long the Kiwi’s deal runs for. Nick Cassidy is also on a multi-year deal after arriving from Envision Racing in 2024.
Porsche – Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa
- Pascal Wehrlein contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
- Antonio Felix da Costa contract until: End of 2024/25
Porsche will field a retained driver line-up of Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa for the 2024/25 Formula E season. Doubts had emerged over Da Costa’s future at Porsche over Season 10 with friction in the team. But the Portuguese will see out the last year of his deal.

The end date on Wehrlein’s contract is unconfirmed having joined Porsche with a multi-year contract to replace Neil Jani in 2021. It was described as a long-term deal when he swapped over from Mahindra. Porsche also helped Wehrlein to win the 2024 Formula E drivers’ title.
DS Penske – Jean-Eric Vergne and Maximilian Gunther
- Jean-Eric Vergne contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
- Maximilian Gunter contract until: At least 2026
DS Penske signed Gunter in July 2024 to replace Vandoorne as the latest teammate of Jean-Eric Vergne at the Formula E team. Vergne is a staple of the DS crew after first joining for the 2016/17 term when the team ran as Techeetah before taking the title in 2017/18 and 18/19.
Gunter joined DS Penske on a multi-year contract after his terms with Maserati expired, with the deal finalised well in advance. It remains unconfirmed for how long Gunther has signed up to stay at DS Penske but drove their GEN3 Evo car whilst testing the new car for Maserati.
Nissan – Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato

- Norman Nato contract until: End of 2024/25
Nissan confirmed their Season 11 driver line-up with Norman Nato returning to the team for the 2024/25 Formula E campaign beside Oliver Rowland in September 2024. Nato had raced with Nissan in 2023 but lost the seat to Rowland. Yet the Japanese brand targeted his return after deciding against using a contractual option to keep Sacha Fenestraz for a third season.
Andretti – Jake Dennis and Nico Muller
- Jake Dennis contract until: At least 2026
- Nico Muller contract until: End of 2024/25
Andretti locked in their 2024/25 Formula E driver line-up on August 13 with confirmation of the signing of Nico Muller to partner Jake Dennis. Muller was free to take up the drive which Nato departed at the end of his contract after leaving ABT Cupra in a similar fashion in 2024.
Muller only signed a one-year contract to join Andretti, who locked Dennis down with a new long-term deal for beyond 2025 in December 2023 after he won that year’s Formula E title.
Envision Racing – Sebastien Buemi and Robin Frijns
- Sebastien Buemi contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
- Robin Frijns contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
Envision Racing enter Season 11 with the same driver line-up as the 2024 Formula E term as Sebastien Buemi and Robin Frijns continue as teammates. Buemi joined Envision on a multi-year contract in 2023, while Frijns returned in 2024 with a deal going into the GEN3 Evo era.
McLaren – Sam Bird and Taylor Barnard
- Sam Bird contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
- Taylor Barnard contract until: End of 2024/25
McLaren locked down their driver line-up for Season 11 in August 2024 with Taylor Barnard replacing Hughes as the teammate of Sam Bird for 2024/25. Barnard impressed the Woking outfit with his displays as a stand-in as their reserve driver before Hughes vacated the drive.

Maserati – Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes
- Stoffel Vandoorne contract until: At least 2026
- Jake Hughes contract until: At least 2026
Maserati announced an all-new driver line-up for the 2024/25 Formula E season in July 2024 as Vandoorne and Hughes joined from DS Penske and McLaren. The Italian brand elected for fresh blood for Season 11 after deciding Gunther and Jehan Daruvala were not their answer.

DS Penske had opted to release Vandoorne after two seasons at the end of his contract with the team. It was a chance that Maserati could not refuse, with Vandoorne signing a contract through to at least the start of GEN4 in 2026. Hughes also signed a contract through 2026.
ABT Lola – Lucas di Grassi and Zane Maloney

- Zane Maloney contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
The 2024/25 Formula E season sees ABT Cupra turn into ABT Lola but Lucas di Grassi will stay a part of their driver line-up. He signed a fresh contract in July 2024 to extend their 10-year relationship, which saw Di Grassi win the Formula E title as ABT Audi back in 2016/17.
ABT Lola sought to re-sign Di Grassi to a contract for at least Season 11 after Muller left the team. Formula 2 star Zane Maloney will also switch to Formula E in 2024/25 after agreeing to join ABT Lola, with the Barbados boy becoming the first rookie gem confirmed for Season 11.
Mahinda – Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara

- Edoardo Mortara contract until: At least the end of 2024/25
Mahindra will retain their driver line-up of Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara for a second Formula E season in 2024/25. The duo both joined Mahindra ahead of Season 10 on multi-year contracts. The exact length of Mortara’s contract with Mahindra remains unconfirmed.
De Vries signed a two-year contract to return to the Formula E grid after his brief dalliance in Formula 1 with AlphaTauri. Mahindra took advantage of Red Bull axing the Dutchman out of their family of drivers after 10 Grand Prix to land the 2021 Formula E winner with Mercedes.
Kiro Race Co – TBC and TBC
Formula E will have another new team name debut on the grid in 2024/25 as ERT will, again, rebrand – this time as Kiro Race Co after being bought by the American investment firm The Forest Road Company. Porsche will also supply the Kiro Race Co team with powertrains now.
