Season 11 of Formula E will see the debut of revolutionary new machinery which Mitch Evans is looking to take advantage of with Jaguar.
The Kiwi driver, along with fellow compatriot Nick Cassidy, guided the team to the Teams’ Championship crown in Season 10. But Evans missed out on the drivers’ title to Pascal Wehrlein in London by just six points.
The 2024/25 season will see the debut of the Gen3 Evo car, which will be the fastest car in Formula E history. It’s four-wheel drive capability allows it to go from 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds, which is quicker than a current F1 car.
The new machine is just one of many exciting innovations coming to FE this year, but preparation for Season 11 has not come without its issues.
There is still question marks over the reliability of the Attack Charge format, with pit stops allowing for extra energy in a race. Furthermore, for the second season in a row, FE will see a two-month gap in the calendar after the proposed Thailand ePrix fell through.

With the all-electric series not wanting to move away from 16 ePrix on the schedule, the slot set for a race in March was scrapped entirely, leaving a gap between the races in Jeddah on 14-15 February and Miami on 12 April.
The events in Monaco and Tokyo have been subsequently bumped up to double headers while Misano has been taken off the calendar.

The prospect of driving around the streets of Monaco twice presents an ‘epic opportunity’ for Evans to grab a double victory like he did in Rome in 2022. But the 30-year-old has also been left ‘torn’ by the fact Monaco is a double header as the single race made it ‘extra special.’
Speaking with talkSPORT’s On Track Podcast, Evans discussed the prospect of winning both races at the principality: “Yeah, that would be pretty epic right?
“The double header at Monaco, it’s got me a bit torn. It gives me two opportunities to race on one of the most amazing tracks in the world.
“But I kind of liked it as a single header because it kind of just, it made it extra special.
“To get to race there two times at the weekend is going to be special. But yeah, a double win there, I mean I obviously did it at Rome but to do it at Monaco would be pretty epic right?”

After winning the title for Jaguar in Season 10, Evans will be desperate to grab the drivers’ championship in Season 11.
The Kiwi driver has finished in the top three in the last three seasons, coming in as the runner-up twice – to Stoffel Vandoorne by 33 points in Season Eight and to Wehrlein by just six last year.

Evans has established himself as one of the top drivers in FE with 12 wins and 31 podiums across his career that began in 2016/17.
Evans is hoping that the new technology in Season 11 will give him that edge over his rivals, with the Gen3 Evo’s power making him feel like Max Verstappen due to its four-wheel drive increasing the advantage given out with Attack Mode.
