The new Formula E season will kick off in Brazil on December 7th, and the calendar has been tweaked from last year.
Formula E’s 16-round championship will see the Monaco ePrix become a doubleheader for the first time, utilising the Grand Prix circuit.
Miami is also returning to Formula E but is being moved to Homestead-Miami Speedway, allowing for Formula E’s first race in Florida since 2015.
Pascal Wehrlein is heading into the season looking to retain the championship he won with Porsche and become a two-time champion.
The German driver told SoyMotor which track he preferred to remain on the calendar, given the schedule’s reshuffle heading into the new season.
Pascal Wehrlein is going to miss Misano from the Formula E calendar
The absence of Misano from the Formula E calendar means that the all-electric championship won’t be racing in Italy.
Italy has been a critical part of the Formula E schedule, with events at the permanent venue of Misano and the Rome ePrix on the streets of the capital.
There aren’t too many races in Europe on the calendar, as Formula E only visits the continent on three occasions.
Firstly, the series races in Monaco before a pair of doubleheaders in Berlin and London to round off the championship in July.
Wehrlein explained that less travel is one of the reasons he would like to see more races in Europe on the Formula E calendar.

He said: “If I speak for myself, I would like to have more races in Europe, without a doubt, so we don’t have to travel so far all the time. The calendar is great, Formula E has done a great job so that we can go to the places we go and I’m looking forward to racing in Miami this year.
“Of course we would like to have more races in Europe. We will miss Italy, we raced in Misano last year and in Rome in previous years.
“Italy has always been a great place to go and I’m sure a race in Spain would be great too, but who knows what will happen in the future. I’m sure they will look for the best possible calendar for all of us.”

Wehrlein clinched the championship after usurping his nearest rival, Mitch Evans, but only six points after consistently finishing in the top 10.
The German driver will be a very tough driver to beat this year, as he knows how to win the championship and put together a title-winning campaign.
This experience could be critical in the final few rounds, but Wehrlein feels the most pressure will come internally over the season.
