Chip Ganassi Racing are the team to beat in IndyCar after securing their third championship over the last four years.
Their work on-track has been impressive and consistent, despite running a demanding five-car slate in 2024.
Downsizing for 2025, they will now field a three-car operation, which could be scary for the rest of the field as they focus their efforts on Alex Palou and Scott Dixon.
The teammates combine for nine IndyCar titles between them, and form an excellent partnership filled with experience, speed, youth and most importantly, a winning gene.
Chip Ganassi ‘lucky’ to have had the likes of Alex Palou and Dario Franchitti
Chip Ganassi are a legendary name in the context of IndyCar, but some of their drivers over the years have been too.
It goes without saying that both Dixon and Dario Franchitti are legends, and with numbers that can already contend with them, Palou is in that conversation too.
Speaking to Motorsport.com, Chip Ganassi praised some of the talent he’s had through the years and commented on the privilege of having them at his team.

“We’ve been lucky to have some great drivers on the team over the years. You want to make the obvious comparisons, but I don’t know that you can.
“At his age to be doing what he’s doing, having the experience that he has, especially with the series the way it is now with some ovals, these guys aren’t exactly ovalmeisters that are excelling in the series today.
“There are better oval racers out there. I’m sure he’ll tell you that. So it’s an interesting series now.”
Will Chip Ganassi continue to dominate in 2025?
Seeing that Chip Ganassi are reducing their operation to three cars for 2025 should be of major concern to the rest of the field.
They will be able to increase their efforts on the cars of Dixon and Palou, making them an even bigger threat on track.
The rest of the field is already playing catch-up, but years of sitting behind their cars will have taught them a lot.

We saw Team Penske – who are the only team to have beaten them in the last four years, get close again this season.
All they need is a consistent season from one of their drivers and they could easily be holding a championship trophy with any one of Scott McLaughlin, Will Power or Josef Newgarden.
