Enzo Fittipaldi recently switched from Europe to North America as he got his first outing in an IndyCar on Tuesday.
The Brazilian – grandson of two-time F1 champion Emerson Fittipaldi – tested with Arrow McLaren at Thermal Club as part of a rookie test for teams to gather data for the 2025 season and get a look at some drivers potentially for the future.
Fittipaldi, who is currently racing in Formula 2 with Van Amersfoort Racing, was among five drivers getting there chance to drive an IndyCar. Another driver seen at Thermal was Logan Sargeant, who tested with Meyer Shank Racing in his first outing after his sacking from Williams in F1.
Along with having a great team behind him in McLaren, Fittipaldi has his older brother to look up to, and speaking with Marshall Pruett on The RACER Channel, the 23-year-old Brazilian explained Pietro Fittipaldi is supporting him in his IndyCar test.

Pietro Fittipaldi got his first full season in IndyCar this season with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, having made part-time appearances with Dale Coyne Racing in 2018 and 2021.
The 28-year-old’s 2024 campaign was one of struggles as the Brazilian failed to register a top 10 finish all season. Finishing 19th in the standings, Fittipaldi registered a best finish of 13th at St Petersburg and Detroit.

With his IndyCar future currently unknown, Fittipaldi recently conducted a test with Pratt Miller Motorsports as he will compete in the IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2025 in the LMP2 class.
And younger brother Enzo had just got off the phone with him when he spoke with Pruett after his IndyCar test with McLaren at Thermal. He said that he is looking to gain as much knowledge from Pietro as possible.
“Me and my brother have a great relationship. I was actually just on the phone with him five minutes ago and he’s there at Sebring doing his test with Pratt Miller, starting his journey there in the IMSA series,” said Enzo.
He’s always wanting to know how I’m doing and trying to give me as many tips as possible. He raced this year in the IndyCar series, so he obviously has a lot of knowledge, experience, so it’s always good to have someone close to you, my brother, and just to try and get as much knowledge from him and learn as much as possible.”

After getting his first outing in IndyCar, Enzo Fittipaldi returns to F2 for the final two rounds of the 2024 season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
The 23-year-old is in his third year in F2 in 2024, coming off the back of his best finish last year with seventh in the standings, grabbing his maiden win and five podiums that season.

Despite grabbing a double podium in Jeddah, including a win in the Feature Race, it has been a challenging season at Van Amersfoort for the Brazilian, as he has only finished in the points seven times so far.
Fittipaldi sits 13th in the standings with 61 points heading into Qatar, and he will be eager to end the season on a high note with his future in the series currently unknown.
