Although the IndyCar season ended two months ago, silly season is far from over yet as teams go back and forth over their driver line-up options.
There are five seats still up for grabs currently, with two at Dale Coyne Racing, and Juncos Hollinger Racing, as well as one at Rahal Letterman Lanigan.
A whole host of big names are competing for those drives as well, including Romain Grosjean who doesn’t have a 2025 seat yet.
With just over three months to go until the new season starts and plenty of testing to be conducted before then, the clock is ticking for the three outfits who are yet to make a decision.
Juncos Hollinger set to make 2025 Sting Ray Robb ‘announcement’
One of the youngest free agents on the IndyCar driver market is Sting Ray Robb, who drove for AJ Foyt Racing in 2024.
At 23 years old, his 34 races of experience provides him with some substantial experience to put on his CV as he searches for a new employer.
Former Juncos Hollinger driver Conor Daly mentioned that he was competing against talent and mega levels of sponsorship for a cockpit, and Sting Ray comes with a lot of backing.
Romain Grosjean, whose name speaks for itself, hasn’t been able to secure a deal to remain with the team in the future yet either.
According to Tony Donohue, the Argentine-American outfit is set to announce the young American as a driver soon.
“As rumoured, @sting_ray_robb will join forces with @juncoshollinger for the 2025 #IndyCar season. Announcement to come,” he said on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Who could join Sting Ray Robb at Juncos Hollinger Racing for 2025?
If the signing is confirmed over the coming days, it will mean that there is still a vacancy alongside one of the most exciting upcoming teams on the grid.
Juncos have been trending upward for a while now, including taking their first podium in seven years at Milwaukee a few months ago.
2024 drivers Grosjean and Daly remain in the picture, but the likes of Rinus VeeKay, Enzo and Pietro Fittipaldi and Logan Sargeant are all searching for openings too.

The latter of which just finished an IndyCar test at Thermal Club as the fastest car for Meyer Shank Racing – a statement of intent to his rivals.
It’s rare that a driver with an FIA super licence becomes available, so expect teams to take a look at the American, who would add a rare blend of Formula 1 experience and youth to any operation.
