Jamie Chadwick performed admirably during her second season in Indy NXT for Andretti Global, winning at Road America and finishing seventh in the championship standings.
The British driver made a move to North America ahead of the 2023 campaign after racing in multiple different cars in Europe.
Chadwick drove single-seaters, winning the W Series championship on three occasions, and was also successful in GTs, taking the GT4 title in British GT.
The 26-year-old improved significantly this season after a mixed rookie year in Indy NXT and battled towards the front of the field more consistently.
When talking on Sky Sports F1 ahead of first practice for the Singapore Grand Prix, Chadwick explained that she would like to step up to IndyCar after an impressive campaign in Indy NXT.

Chadwick has shown she can compete at the front of the field in Indy NXT, the final step on the Road to Indy.
The British driver has also tried oval racing, competing at the Nashville Superspeedway in the final round of the year.
This is a vital skill, as being competitive on ovals in IndyCar is incredibly important, particularly at the Indy 500, the championship’s most important event.
Ovals are a unique aspect of the series, and drivers like Daniel Ricciardo aren’t overly keen on racing in North America.
Chadwick explained that she has a single test session next week, which could decide whether she steps up to IndyCar.
She said: “Definitely shooting to step up. I’ve got a test next week, so a lot rides on that and seeing how that goes. But yeah, obviously, the emotions were very high in that moment. I think we worked very hard in the offseason, so you always hope and dream, but you never know how things pan out until it does.”

The IndyCar grid for the 2025 season is beginning to take shape as more drivers get announced ahead of the season opener at St. Petersburg.
PREMA’s arrival with two cars opens up more options, although Callum Ilott has already taken one of them. The second seat is still available and if Chadwick were to deliver good lap times in the test it could help her step into IndyCar.
Other teams such as Juncos Hollinger Racing also don’t have a confirmed driver lineup with former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean not signed up to race in 2025.
Getting a seat in IndyCar is very difficult as it requires a lot of budget and there are always a lot of drivers battling for a few spots in the field.
