Marcus Armstrong was unfortunate at a variety of stages throughout the 2024 IndyCar season with Chip Ganassi Racing.
The Kiwi found a lot of pace and consistency toward the end of the season and some thought that may have been enough to help him retain his seat.
Sadly, the team deciding to downsize from a five-car to three-car operation for 2025 means that he was pushed out of the squad.
But he did land on his feet quickly, signing a deal with Meyer Shank Racing where he will race alongside the experienced Felix Rosenqvist.
Angela Cullen will continue with Marcus Armstrong in 2025
One key component of Armstrong’s career will remain with him on his next IndyCar endeavour, as Lewis Hamilton’s former trainer Angela Cullen continues to work with him.
The physiotherapist severed her ties with the seven-time champion in 2023, before taking some time away from motorsport.
A link-up with her fellow countryman Armstrong would come next, and appearing on the Speed Street podcast, he has just confirmed that he will get to ‘attack’ the 2025 season with her.

“Angela and I have worked together really well this season and I feel like there have been many times where we have deserved a result that we haven’t necessarily gotten.
“I would say the majority of the grid feels that they had on occasion this year. It’s not unusual but the good thing is that we get to attack again together.”
Can Armstrong improve upon his 2024 results?
Armstrong finished 14th in the championship this year and took his first podium in the series at Detroit in a thriller.
But it was his four top-eight finishes in the final six races that showed a flash of his potential behind the wheel of an IndyCar.
Next season, his experienced teammate Rosenqvist should be able to help him develop as a driver and give him some tips.

The Swede has proven himself to be a fine operator over the years, and his temperament is exactly what could be required to help maximise Arsmtrong’s potential.
That’s not to say that either will be expected to be in the top five every weekend, but there could bt the odd podium up for grabs if they can work well together.
