IndyCar’s current calendar includes 18 events across six months of racing action from March until September.
For fans, being left nearly half a year without any excitement is difficult, and although the drivers enjoy their break – it appears some are in agreement with those in the grandstands.
The 2024 championship finale sees a return to the Nashville Superspeedway after a 16-year absence from the oval circuit.
It will play host to the 18th and last round of the season, where Alex Palou, Will Power and Scott McLaughlin will fight it out to win the IndyCar championship.

Further down the field, there are other things at stake – such as entire careers and full-time drives for the 2025 season.
Romain Grosjean is a man without a gig for next year yet, but he has been offered one by his Juncos Hollinger Racing team.

He’s assessing his options before making a decision, with a lengthy off-season providing plenty of time to make a decision before work needs to start for 2025.
Interacting with a fan on X, he agreed with an idea to extend the IndyCar season when a fan said: “There needs to be another race or two added on the schedule in the future for sure,”
“Would be fantastic,” Grosjean replied.
What is Grosjean aiming for in Nashville
In his debut season with his Argentine-American team, Grosjean has come close to reaching the podium on one occasion only, at Laguna Seca.
He will no doubt have hoped for more from the year, with 17th in the championship not representing the pace he has shown throughout.

A combination of bad luck and mistakes means that he is lower than he should be in the drivers’ standings.
But, he will have an opportunity to prove his credentials again in 2025, when he decides which team he is going to race for.
Working at a smaller team will have been an eye-opener for the Frenchman, who likely endured a very different experience within the ranks of Andretti a few years ago.
