Romain Grosjean battled to 16th place in the IndyCar season finale at the Music City Grand Prix at the end of a difficult season.
The Frenchman endured a tough year with Juncos Hollinger Racing, failing to score a podium finish, but he drove to fourth place at Laguna Seca.
Grosjean also had good results on ovals throughout the season, finishing in 10th place in the first race at Iowa and a P9 finish at the Milwaukee Mile in IndyCar.
Despite his good pace on ovals, he was unable to break into the top 10 in the final round of the season due to a small aspect over the 206-lap race.
The Nashville Superspeedway is a very fast track that IndyCar returned to for the first time since 2008, but overtaking was made difficult by the high line having very little grip.
Grosjean wasn’t happy to see the high line lack grip over the race distance, especially as the tyres lost performance when speaking on his own YouTube channel.

Grosjean endured an eventful race before he took the chequered flag in 16th place after battling in the midfield and struggling to make significant progress.
The Juncos Hollinger Racing driver started the race in 13th place but floundered in the midfield as overtaking was tricky due to the narrow racing line.
Grosjean was also caught out late in the race by an unfortunately timed caution, which came out just after the Frenchman pitted, costing him valuable time.
He explained while speaking on his YouTube channel getting into the groove is critical after running into the marbles and the high line made the race difficult.
The 38-year-old said: “It’s just about cleaning your tyres, getting back into the rhythm, and making sure that you can do it again.

“But, annoying that that high line wouldn’t work as well as I hoped to. As soon as the tyre wore a little bit. It’s just a no go. But we had so much more pace than those guys.
“We just got very unlucky with the pit cycle. We should have been in front of all of those guys, and we are not. It’s just very frustrating.”

Grosjean has had a mixed career in IndyCar, with moments of brilliance during his two-year stint at Andretti Autosport marred by his failure to take a victory.
He has also suffered from a lot of crashes at vital moments, colliding with Scott McLaughlin at St. Petersburg in 2023 while the pair were battling for the lead.
The Frenchman is yet to be confirmed by Juncos Hollinger Racing for the 2025 season although he is in the running to remain with the team.
Juncos may be his most favoured option as he knows the team and has reliably delivered results in his first year with the them.
He has also been part of an influx of drivers who used to race in and around Formula 1, and Grosjean could be joined by Valtteri Bottas on the grid next year if the Finn can’t stay in F1.
