Despite his immense talent, Theo Pourchaire has endured a rollercoaster of a 2024 season and is struggling to secure a full-time drive.
The Frenchman clinched the Formula 2 championship at the end of last season in a dramatic final round in Abu Dhabi, usurping his nearest rival, Frederik Vesti.
Pourchaire spent three full seasons in FIA F2 and became the youngest-ever winner of a race at that level when he won the Monaco Feature Race in 2021.
He was originally planning to race in Super Formula in Japan but only competed in the season-opener at Suzuka before moving to IndyCar.

Pourchaire posted on his X account saying: “I’m bored..” as he fails to find a full-time race seat for the rest of the 2024 season after a superb junior career.
The Formula 2 champion drove well for Arrow McLaren, replacing the injured David Malukas. He kicked off his campaign on the unforgiving streets of Long Beach and finished 11th, staying away from the concrete walls.
The excellent form continued into the next two rounds at Barber Motorsports Park and the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he had strong pace.
As Callum Ilott drove the No. 6 Arrow McLaren car at the Indy 500, it was announced that Pourchaire would race for the team for the rest of the year.
This didn’t come to fruition, as after just two races and good performances on the streets of Detroit and at Road America, the Frenchman was replaced by Nolan Siegel.
Pourchaire was given one more race with McLaren in Toronto, replacing Alexander Rossi, who injured his wrist in practice.

Pourchaire’s options at the front of the field in IndyCar look few and far between, with Arrow McLaren replacing Rossi with Christian Lundgaard.
Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing both have stable lineups despite Will Power and Scott Dixon both being over 40 years old.
Further down the field, there are also minimal options despite the Sauber F1 Team looking for a seat for the Frenchman, who still has links to the outfit.
