Just 73 points separate the top five drivers in the IndyCar championship with four rounds of an incredible 2024 season to go.
Two-time champion Alex Palou leads the way by 59 points over Colton Herta, followed by a gaggle of four cars chasing him who are separated by just 14 points.

Three ovals and one road course face the drivers as they attempt to take the IndyCar crown from Palou, who is the only many under the age of 26 to have won the title twice.
Each of Alex Palou, Scott Dixon, Will Power and Scott McLaughlin have all taken two victories this season, while Herta has managed to claw his way to second in the championship with the singular victory at Toronto.

A statistic that will give the chasing drivers hope of a late comeback is that Palou is yet to win an IndyCar oval race.
Colton Herta hasn’t either, but with youth leading the way, the experience of the other three drivers will receive an opportunity to apply pressure and force its way into the title picture.
That’s if Palou doesn’t manage to win the upcoming road course race at Portland – which would all but end anyone else’s chances of snatching the crown from him.

Six-time champion Scott Dixon knows exactly what it takes to be in contention, and that should help him on track when it comes to facing his rivals.
Will Power too has been on the end of some bad luck recently and will be desperate to turn the tide around and put himself in the mix for a third championship.
McLaughlin and Herta will be desperate to catch Palou
Scott McLaughlin has four podiums in his last five races, and is aware that he must perform well to stand any chance of winning the title.
Four years on from joining the sport, it would be an incredible story for the man who dominated Supercars to come to North America and gain another triumph – something which will spur him on without a doubt over the next month of racing.
Colton Herta has seemed destined for stardom ever since he burst onto the scene a few seasons ago and certainly has the equipment to deliver behind the wheel of an Andretti.

But he too will need to break his oval duck and deliver at least one victory to stand a chance of chasing down Alex Palou.
They will also need to keep in clean on track with each other – something which caught Will Power out after a crash at Gateway last week.
If all the tangibles come together, fans could be in store for one of the greatest endings to an IndyCar season of all time.
