Adrien Fourmaux’s future in the World Rally Championship is up in the air as the season finale in Japan rolls closer.
The Frenchman has been the standout performer for M-Sport in 2024 as he sits fifth in the standings heading into Rally Japan.
M-Sport have ‘everything riding’ on Fourmaux to deliver the results and keep their operations going, and that is exactly what the 29-year-old has done, securing four third place finishes across the season.
The Frenchman’s performances in a team with limited budget has been impressive, and it has caught the attention of the other manufacturers in the WRC as he assesses his options for 2025.
Adrien Fourmaux is ‘not interested’ in joining Toyota in 2025
Fourmaux has been heavily linked with Hyundai over the last couple of months, as the Korean manufacturer looks to bring him on board alongside Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak.

The 29-year-old seems keen to stay at M-Sport, as he revealed on the WRC’s More Than Machine documentary, but questions whether the team’s budget will be enough for him to challenge for the world title.
Fourmaux also revealed that Toyota are interested in him and have offered him a contract for half a season, which he says he is ‘not interested’ in.
“Most of the rallies are already done and it’s time for us to know where we are for next year,” he said.
“I just make my decision with my head more than my heart, because my aim is to be world champion and I want to find a good way to go there.
“What M-Sport is doing with the money they’ve got, it’s incredible, it’s brilliant. But will it be enough? That’s the question.
“It doesn’t mean that I’m leaving, but Hyundai is offering me a full season, which is very interesting. Toyota is for half a season, which I’m not interested on.
“But for sure I’m spoiled, I know everybody, I feel like I’m home. They say they want to keep me but I’m still waiting for it so it’s quite annoying.”
Who will drive for Toyota in the WRC in 2025?
The fact that Toyota are only offering half a season to Fourmaux, it may indicate that they want to trial the Frenchman in a team with a larger budget.
Toyota want three full-time drivers in 2025, with Kalle Rovanpera set to return to a full-time seat next year after competing part-time in 2024.

It is likely Elfyn Evans will continue with the team, while Sebastien Ogier will likely compete part-time next year as he has stressed he will never complete a full-season in the WRC again.
Who the third full-time driver will be at Toyota in 2025 is unknown, but it seems Fourmaux has closed that door as he waits for M-Sport to offer him a new contract.
