Dennis Hauger will be leaving Formula 2 at the end of the 2024 season after three years in the category.
The Norwegian will be making the move to Indy NXT for the 2025 season with Andretti Global. Hauger will be coming in as the replacement for the 2024 champion Louis Foster who has joined Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in IndyCar.
Formerly part of the Red Bull junior team, Hauger moved to Formula 2 with PREMA in 2022 after winning the Formula 3 title with the team the year prior. In his debut season in the category, the 21-year-old finished 10th in the standings with two wins and three podiums.
Hauger moved to MP Motorsport in 2023 and went better in his sophomore year. The Norwegian scored two wins and four podiums to finish eighth in the standings with 113 points.

In 2024, Hauger partnered with Franco Colapinto at MP Motorsport and his season got off to a solid start, collecting three podiums from the opening five races, including his first and only win of the year in Jeddah.

With two rounds to go, the Norwegian has grabbed five podiums and 15 points finishes across the season as he sits ninth in the standings with 85.5 points.
After this year’s F2 campaign, Hauger will move across to the US to embark on a new challenge in Indy NXT. The announcement of the signing has been met with widespread support from fans and fellow drivers alike.
One of those drivers was Van Amersfoort Racing’s Enzo Fittipaldi, who currently sits 12th in the standings. The Brazilian wrote in the comments on Andretti’s announcement of Hauger on Instagram: “Congrats my friend.”
IndyCar’s Felix Rpsenqvist applauded the signing of Hauger as he commented two clapping hands emojis.
Several Formula 2 drivers have abandoned their 2024 efforts mid-season
Hauger is the latest driver to confirm his exit from F2 before the 2024 season has come to an end. His MP Motorsport teammate Colapinto was promoted to F1 by Williams to replace Logan Sargeant from Monza onwards.
Zak O’Sullivan was forced to withdraw from F2 due to a funding issue after Monza, and the Brit is desperately trying to get himself back on the grid for 2025.

Taylor Barnard confirmed his move to McLaren in Formula E for the 2024/25 season, calling it quits on F2 after the round at Spa.
Joining Barnard in Formula E next season will be Zane Maloney who has signed with Lola Yamaha ABT. The Bajan driver will miss the final race of the F2 season in Abu Dhabi due to it clashing with the season-opener in FE in Sao Paulo.
