Arvid Lindblad finished as the highest placed rookie in the 2024 Formula 3 season.
The 17-year-old finished fourth in the standings in his first season in the category with PREMA. The Brit went into the final round of the season at Monza with a mathematical chance at winning the title.
However, Lindblad failed to score points at the last three rounds of the season and it ultimately left him 40 points behind the champion Leonardo Fornaroli.
Nevertheless, the Red Bull junior had an impressive first season in Formula 3, especially given that he had very limited experience in the machinery heading into this year.
But Lindblad was able to show his talent with some exceptional performances, and speaking with the F3 website, the Brit named one ‘insane’ race in particular that stood out above the rest.
Arvid Lindblad names his double-win at Silverstone as his best moment of the 2024 season
Lindblad began the 2024 campaign in the best possible way by winning his debut race in the category in the Sprint Race in Bahrain.
He grabbed another podium in the next Sprint Race at Melbourne and later claimed his second victory of the season in Barcelona in the Feature Race.

After suffering his second retirement of the season at Spielberg, Lindblad responded at his home event at Silverstone by winning both the Sprint Race and Feature Race. This would be the only time in the season where a driver won both races in an event, and these two victories put the 17-year-old on four wins for the year; the most of any other driver.
It may be the ‘basic answer’, but the ‘incredible’ weekend at Silverstone is Lindblad’s best moment of 2024.
“Silverstone is the basic answer,” he said. “Obviously that is incredible, I had not raced at home in England since 2018, and doing the double was insane. So, if I could choose one moment from the year, I would choose that weekend and mainly the Feature Race.
“It’s probably the first time ever in motorsport where I won a race, I didn’t think I was going to win. It was not being negative, it was being realistic, when you start P9 in a dry race, on a track like Silverstone, on the hard tyre and deg is so huge, I was thinking if I finished P5, P6, P7 and rescue some points it would be a good weekend, so winning was insane.
“But other ones that were really special as well were obviously the Bahrain Sprint. The first weekend, win on debut, Monaco quali, and this was something that was a bit overlooked and in my opinion was more impressive than some of the other stuff I did.”
Can Arvid Lindblad perform in Formula 2 next season?
Following his success in F3, Lindblad will make another step up in his career as he will head to Formula 2 in 2025 with Campos Racing.
The Brit will still be 17 for much of the season and there will be pressure on his shoulders to deliver results. But given his achievements in F3 with limited time to prepare, who is to say that he will not be able to perform in the next step up.

Being a Red Bull junior, Campos is a great fit for Lindblad given the success the team have had with the Austrian outfit’s young talents. A perfect example is Isack Hadjar this season, who is currently in the title fight alongside Gabriel Bortoleto.
Lindblad will most likely be Hadjar’s replacement and will therefore have big shoes to fill. But as he makes the next big step towards F1, the Brit will certainly be looking to cease the opportunity and continue his impressive junior career.
