Charlie Wurz struggled at times during his rookie season in FIA Formula 3, scoring points just once for Jenzer Motorsport.
The Austrian driver finished the Feature Race in the top five at the second round of the season in Australia at the end of a chaotic weekend.
Wurz was unable to get near the top 10 throughout the rest of the season, retiring on four occasions towards the end of the year in FIA F3.
He is aiming to improve next year after gathering experience throughout the season and learning some new circuits, as well as driving for Trident at the post-season test at Jerez.
Wurz is moving to Trident, who won the Drivers’ Championship with Leonardo Fornaroli and put together a superb campaign.
Trident’s new driver has outlined to the official FIA F3 website what he needs to do to put together a championship-challenging campaign in the 2025 season.

The step up to Formula 3 is a challenge for a lot of drivers as the series usually features much more hectic racing compared to regional F3 series and Formula 4.
Formula 3 tyres are also very different to series further down the ladder which creates a steep learning curve for rookies.

Wurz is looking to learn from Trident’s vast amount of knowledge heading into the 2025 season and gain more experience after his rookie year.
He said: “I’ve already had a learning year, so I have a bit of experience on my side. Then on top of that, the team has massive experience in this Championship, just endless knowledge.
“Hopefully we can work as much as possible and learn as much as possible from the team to feel properly ready to attack and for the Championship challenge come next year.”

Wurz will be joined at Trident next year by FRECA champion Rafael Camara and Noah Stromsted who is also moving up from the same series.

Camara dominated the championship, winning the title by 60 points over his nearest rival James Wharton at the end of the year.
The Brazilian driver also has experience with some of the tracks on next year’s FIA F3 calendar, after winning at Spa-Francorchamps and Imola.
There is no guarantee that success in FRECA will translate into a competitive stint in FIA F3 but the championship does provide a good starting point.
