Jamie Chadwick is hoping to make the next step up in her career after an impressive sophomore year in Indy NXT.
The Brit has been racing with Andretti in Indy NXT for the past two seasons, with 2024 being her best year to date. Chadwick secured her first win at Road America and went on to finish the season in seventh place.
The 26-year-old has been affiliated with Williams since 2019 and has acted their test and development driver in Formula 1. In that time, Chadwick won all three seasons of the all-female W Series, as well as the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in 2019.
On Monday, Chadwick got her first official IndyCar test as she got a run at Barber Motorsport Park with Andretti. The Brit is hoping to make a move to the series full-time.
In November, Chadwick is set for another high-profile test as she is set to get an outing with Formula E machinery in Valencia, but not with the team many may think.

As per a report from The Race, the test is designed solely for female drivers, with the one in Valencia on November 7 being only the second one ever run – the first being in Diriyah back in 2018.

All 11 teams are ‘likely’ to field two drivers each, with Chadwick being ‘highly likely’ to feature, but according to The Race, she will ‘not test with Andretti’ despite racing with them in Indy NXT for the past two years.
The 26-year-old has previously tested Gen2 machinery, first with the Nio Formula E Team – now ERT – in 2018 at Diriyah and then again in 2020 with Jaguar in Marrakesh.
It is ‘possible’ that Chadwick will return to Jaguar and get a run with the team in the Valencia test, with the full line-up set to be confirmed in mid-October.
The British outfit have been competing in FE since the 2016/17 season and have won 16 ePrix in that time, with the team winning four races in each of the last three seasons. Mitch Evans, who has been with the team throughout their time in FE, will remain for Season 11 alongside Nick Cassidy.

Chadwick has made her intentions clear that she wants to race in IndyCar, but FE could also present a good opportunity for her to showcase her skills.

However, a move to either category in 2025 may prove difficult. With Jaguar’s line-up confirmed in FE, the test with the team in Valencia will simply be a chance to get used to more modern machinery.
Only ERT are yet to confirm their 2024/25 drivers, although it is expected that Sergio Sette Camara and Dan Ticktum will remain with the team in Season 11.
Colton Herta, Kyle Kirkwood and Marcus Ericsson has been confirmed for Andretti for the 2025 IndyCar season, meaning that Chadwick will have to join another team if she is to move to the series for next season.
