David Beckmann was the driver behind the wheel of the second Kiro Race Co car in pre-season testing for Season 11 in Madrid.
The German drove alongside Dan Ticktum at the Jarama Circuit in what was the first running for the team since their rebranding from ERT and recent American takeover.
The sessions in Madrid were the first opportunity for the drivers and teams to get to grips with Formula E’s brand new Gen3 Evo machine, which is set to revolutionise racing in the all-electric series with its all-wheel drive and softer Hankook tyres.
While the timings in the sessions are not much to go off in terms of a final order for the teams, Kiro Race Co quickly became a talking point as they found themselves consistently at the front, with Beckmann standing out amongst the field.

The 24-year-old has only competed in two Formula E races in his career, as he replaced Andre Lotterer at Andretti for the double-header in Berlin in the 2022/23 season, as the fellow German attended testing for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Having previously competed in Formula 3 and Formula 2, Beckmann’s most recent racing exploits have come in endurance racing. But the German has remained in FE in some capacity, serving as the reserve driver for Porsche in Season Nine and 10.

In Madrid, Beckmann had an impressive week with Kiro Race Co, as he sets the fastest time on Thursday morning’s session over Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix Da Costa.
Speaking with the official Formula E YouTube channel, the 24-year-old said he could not ‘wish for anything more’ from his time in Madrid after a strong outing with the team.
“It was a very interesting session. In the morning, today it was really cold, we had no sunshine so it was really difficult to get the tyres on temperature. But now since the sun came out it was a bit better,” he said.
“The last new tyre run for me was very positive and I think the team and myself did a really good step in the right direction to get the tyres in the right temperature window and I think that’s key for the upcoming season.
“Yeah, it’s really nice, I did a really good job with that one lap and got [the] fastest lap in the morning session, so can’t wish for anything more.”
Will David Beckmann drive with Kiro Race Co in Season 11?
Kiro Race Co are still yet to confirm their two drivers for Season 11, with the season set to start in December with the Sao Paulo ePrix.
With Ticktum and Beckmann taking part in pre-season testing in Madrid, naturally many would assume that the duo will be the drivers the team will go with for the 2024/25 season.

Ticktum would offer continuity for the team having spent the last three season with them, while Beckmann would be getting his first full-time assault in FE off the back of a brilliant outing in Madrid.
It had been anticipated that Sergio Sette Camara would retain his seat alongside Ticktum, but with Beckmann taking part in pre-season testing, it seems that the Brazilians chances of staying in FE next season are highly unlikely.
