The grid for the 2024/25 Formula E season is nearing its completion with the latest announcement of another seat being filled.
Formula 2 title contender Zane Maloney has signed with ABT Lola for Season 11 in Formula E, having impressed the team even before testing the new Gen3 Evo car at Varano in Italy.
The Barbadian is currently sat third in the drivers’ standings in F2 with two wins and five podiums, 34.5 points behind championship leader Gabriel Bortoleto.
While it is mathematically possible to win the title, Maloney has just two rounds to continue his momentum and push Bortoleto and Isack Hadjar ahead of him, which will prove a difficult challenge.
But the 20-year-old can now have a more relaxed approach knowing that his future has already been confirmed, as he is set for the all-electric series of Formula E in 2024/25.
Lucas di Grassi welcomes Zane Maloney to ABT Lola after confirming his seat for Season 11
Maloney becomes the second youngest driver in FE history behind Taylor Barnard who will join McLaren for Season 11 alongside Sam Bird.

The Barbadian driver’s teammate next season will be the 2016/17 FE champion Lucas di Grassi, who will be the oldest driver on the grid at the age of 40.
And the Brazilian took to Instagram to welcome his new teammate to the team ahead of Season 11, writing: “Welcome to the family!”
Di Grassi has been in FE since its inaugural season in 2014/15 and has spent all but two seasons with the ABT name, driving with Venturi in Season Eight and Mahindra in Season Nine.
The Brazilian endured his worst season in the series to date last year, scoring just four points and finishing 23rd in the standings.
But his wealth experience has proven valuable enough to ABT to give him a seat for Season 11, and this will be extremely beneficial for Maloney as he embarks on his debut campaign.
ERT are the only Formula E team yet to confirm their line-up for Season 11
With Maloney’s signing, there is only one FE team that are yet to confirm their drivers for the 2024/25 season.

ERT finished rock bottom of the Teams’ Championship last season with just 23 points, as Dan Ticktum and Sergio Sette Camara could only manage four points finishes between them.
Ticktum is expected to stay with the Chinese team for Season 11. The Brit has spent the last three years with ERT, amassing just 31 points in that team.
ERT are in talks with Sacha Fenestraz over a move for 2024/25 as the Argentinian is desperately looking to stay in FE. Fenestraz was released by Nissan at the end of Season 10, making way for Norman Nato.
