The Formula 2 landscape is starting to take shape ahead of what will be a thrilling 2025 season, including many new faces.
But not everyone is moving on from the series, including Aston Martin development driver and DAMS star Jak Crawford.
The American sits fifth in the drivers’ standings after a consistent start to life in the world’s biggest feeder series.
However, there’s more to come from him after it was announced that he would be remaining with DAMS for 2025.
Charles Pic is ‘thrilled’ to keep Jak Crawford for 2025
Crawford will aim to build upon the two victories that he has scored throughout the first two seasons of his Formula 2 career.
He spent his maiden campaign with Hitech, before a switch to DAMS which has yielded far better results – he already has more than double the points he managed in 2023 with two rounds to go.
Currently, he’s on a streak of six consecutive points finishes, including a podium last time out at Baku’s Sprint Race.

Speaking in a press release, DAMS team owner and ex-F1 driver Charles Pic shared his thoughts on keeping hold of Crawford’s services.
“We’re thrilled to retain Jak for the 2025 season after a year that has produced both high and low points. Throughout the campaign, Jak has kept his head down and worked hard, which shows his great attitude.”

Sadly for Crawford, there were no opportunities to graduate to Formula 1 for 2025, not even as a reserve or test driver.
Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich holds that role, while Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso occupy the race seats.
It appears that it may be difficult to force his way onto the grid unless he enjoys a stellar 2025 campaign, with Drugovich being the evidence that sometimes even a championship isn’t enough.

Speaking to the Formula 2 website a few weeks ago, he mentioned how he believes that he is delivering his best performances right now.
“I feel like I’ve performed quite well, definitely the best I have ever driven before,” he said. “I had a couple of mistakes early on in the season but I learned from those really quick.”
