Colin Braun was a surprise pick for Dale Coyne Racing at the start of the 2024 IndyCar season, as a man with little to no single-seater experience.
After two races, his test run was over and he returned to Sports Cars, where he has applied his trade throughout his career.
The 36-year-old is a coveted individual and has even raced in NASCAR too, claiming a win at the Michigan 200 in the 2009 Craftsman Truck Series.
Now he has landed himself a new opportunity, and it’s one that he looks very excited to fulfil headed into the 2025 season.
Colin Braun couldn’t have ‘dreamed’ of better racing return
Braun will be driving for Meyer Shank Racing in their maiden IMSA season alongside the experienced Tom Blomqvist.
It’s a huge opportunity to drive for an established team within motorsports – one that has taken victories and championships at that.
Braun has the knowledge they need to exploit in order to get up to speed quickly and make sure that they have a successful first year.

“I am very excited to come back to Meyer Shank Racing,” he told Auto Racing Digest. “We had a great season in 2023 with a lot of wins. Just what a great team and what a great organization.
“I couldn’t have dreamed up a better return to GTP. The folks at HRC and ACURA have been working extremely hard over the whole course of time, and I think we’re going to really hit the ground running come Daytona 2025.”
Where did Dale Coyne go after singing Braun?
Braun’s two IndyCar performances weren’t as electric as one would’ve hoped – with a 20th-placed finish being the highlight.
After he left, the team bounced around with multiple different drivers, including current McLaren star Nolan Siegel.
Rookie and former Formula 2 star Luca Ghiotto received an opportunity and performed sub-par, and Katherine Legge came back after time away from the series.

Legge managed a few top-20 finishes, but sadly they weren’t enough for her to receive the opportunity to continue with her career.
Their 2025 line-up is yet to be decided, but there are a few drivers who they could choose from – depending largely on whether they seek experience or sponsorship.
