It was a Trident driver who came out on top in the 2024 Formula 3 season as Leonardo Fornaroli won the title.
The 19-year-old Italian claimed the championship over fellow countryman Gabriele Mini at the final round of the season in Monza. Despite not winning a race, Fornaroli displayed great consistency to finish in the points in all but two races, claiming seven podiums along the way.
His performances have earned a spot on the Formula 2 grid for 2025 as he joins Invicta Racing. Fornaroli is hoping to emulate the success of Gabriel Bortoleto, who currently leads the F2 standings with Invicta having won F3 the year prior.
As the 2025 season approaches, Trident were the first team to confirm their three drivers, and the Italian outfit will field an entirely new line-up.
But who are the three drivers that will race with the Italian outfit? And can the team repeat their success with Fornaroli with their new signings next year.
Charlie Wurz
The first driver to be confirmed at Trident for 2025 was Charlie Wurz who is moving across from Jenzer Motorsport.
The son of former Austrian F1 driver Alex Wurz, the Austrian will be entering his sophomore year in Formula 3, with Wurz not wanting to step into Formula 2 in 2025 to improve his chances of winning the F3 title.

Joining Trident will give him a fighting chance as they are well-established in this series. But Wurz joins the team off the back of a disappointing debut season in 2024.
The 18-year-old scored points only once all year, with fifth place in the Feature Race in Australia as he finished 22nd in the standings with 10 points.
While he may not have had the best team around him in 2024 – evidenced by the fact that Jenzer are quitting F3 ahead of 2025 – Wurz will certainly have all the tools he needs at Trident to succeed.
The only question is whether he can step into the team and deliver the results that will be expected of him.
Noah Stromsted
Stromsted made his F3 debut at the final round of the 2024 season at Monza with Campos Racing, replacing Oliver Goethe who was promoted to F2 to replace Franco Colapinto at MP Motorsport.
Failing to score a point as he languished at the back of the grid, Stromsted will get a full-time seat in 2025 with Trident as he moves up from FRECA.

The 17-year-old finished second in the F4 Danish Championship in 2021 and made six appearances in Spanish F4 the following year before having a full-time assault in 2023, finishing seventh with three podiums. The Dane also competed in the F4 UAE Championship that year, where he finished ninth.
Heading into the final round of the 2024 FRECA campaign, Stromsted is sixth in the standings having collected four podiums so far this season.
Despite not winning a race in any category since Danish F4, the 17-year-old has potential and has already grabbed some decent results that have clearly given Trident faith in the young Dane. Only time will tell if Stromsted can live up to the pressure and make the step up to F3.
Rafael Camara
Perhaps Trident’s most exciting acquisition for 2025 is Brazilian Rafael Camara, who will be joining from FRECA alongside Stromsted.
Camara has been with PREMA since he made his racing debut in 2022 and had been expected to join the team in F3 next year. However, Trident have landed his signature, leaving PREMA fans feeling they have ‘fumbled’ by letting Camara go.

The 19-year-old, who is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, has had an impressive junior career thus far. In his debut year in 2022, Camara finished second in the Formula 4 UAE Championship and third in Spanish F4 and ADAC F4.
The Brazilian finished third in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship in 2023 and 2024 and finished fifth in his debut season in FRECA in 2023.
Heading into the season finale at Monza, Camara is already champion, leading the standings over teammate James Wharton by 60 points with tow races to go. The Ferrari junior has collected six wins and 10 podiums thus far in what has been a dominant year.
With the results there for everyone to see, Camara will go down as one of the most exciting drivers in F3 next year in what is a huge coup for Trident as they hope to replicate Fornaroli’s title-winning success.
