Only one seat out of the 30 available has been confirmed so far for the 2025 Formula 3 season.

Charlie Wurz has completed his move over to Trident for the 2025 campaign, having spent last season with Jenzer Motorsport who will be leaving the championship at the end of this year.

Wurz, who scored just 10 points in 2024 and finished 22nd in the standings, will be stepping into the No. 4 car driven by Leonardo Fornaroli, who won the Formula 3 title this season,

With several seats still up for grabs, drivers across all junior categories will be hoping to land a deal on the Formula 1 support ladder.

And according to The Race, one of those drivers eyeing a move to F3 for 2025 is F1 Academy title contender Abbi Pulling.

Alice Powell is ‘working on’ a deal in Formula 3 for Abbi Pulling

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fairly solid junior career up to this point, finishing fourth in the all-female W Series in 2022 in that season that was cancelled before completion and ultimately folded.

In its place is the F1 Academy, with all 10 F1 teams fielding a female driver to compete in the series. Pulling, an Alpine Academy driver, is in her sophomore year in the championship having finished fifth last season with seven podiums.

Pulling has utterly dominated F1 Academy in 2024, finishing on the podium in every race so far – winning seven of them – and currently leads the championship by 95 points with two rounds to go.

The Brit is also competed in the F4 British Championship where she currently sits sixth, but her future beyond this season is uncertain.

According to The Race, thanks to her ties with Renault and Nissan through the Alpine Academy, Pulling is set to take part in the Formula E female drivers’ test in Valencia in November with Nissan.

Furthermore, the report states that her manager – former W Series competitor Alice Powell – is ‘believed to be working on’ a deal with Pulling to get her into F3 for 2025.

Powell, who has been a test, development and simulator driver for Envision in FE since the 2019/20 season, is also believed to be participating in the Valencia test with the team.

Formula 3 would be a good step up for Abbi Pulling

The official line-up for the female drivers’ test in November is set to be confirmed in mid-October, with Pulling set to run along with Jamie Chadwick who is believed to be driving with Jaguar for the test.

But like Jaguar, Nissan have already confirmed their two drivers for the 2024/25 season in Norman Nato and Oliver Rowland, meaning the outing for Pulling will most likely be meant for getting used to the modern FE machinery.

With her dominance in F1 Academy, F3 would be the most logical step up and with 29 seats still vacant, Pulling has a good opportunity to land her spot on the grid.

Her current team Rodin Motorsport competes in the championship, so it would seem natural to remain with them if she is to join F3. Their 2024 drivers Piotr Wisnicki and Joseph Loake struggled for regular points with 10 and eight respectively, while Callum Voisin finished 12th in the standings with a win in the Feature Race at Spa.
