Lucas di Grassi has delivered an intriguing verdict regarding Lola’s all-new Formula E participation following a 1,600km test in Spain.
The Brazilian driver enters his second term with the ABT Cupra outfit in the 2024-25 season, who decided to make the switch to Lola powertrains in April.
They have formed a technical partnership alongside Yamaha, which will see them compete in the 11th instalment of the series starting in December.

Di Grassi, who recently turned 40 years of age, has competed in every season of Formula E since its inception back in 2014.
He won the championship in the 2016-17 season, but has struggled to emulate that success in recent times, finishing 23rd with a total of four points in the 2023-24 standings.
In the 2023-24 head-to-head, Di Grassi struggled against teammate Nico Muller but has earned another year on the grid.
A 1,600km test has now been completed at the Calafat circuit as preparation ramps up ahead of their maiden Formula E venture.
Di Grassi said about the new car on social media: “Three partners, one team, more than 1,600km covered in testing after last week’s successful test of the ABT-Lola Formula E car in Calafat.
“The car is four seconds faster than last year, it has four-wheel drive and accelerates from 0 to 100 in 1:86. There is no racing car capable of accelerating like that, not even a Formula 1.”

The Brazilian is no stranger to Formula 1 and in good position to compare the rival open-seater series having completed a season with Virgin Racing back in 2010.
He wound up finishing 24th with a best finish of 14th at the rain-interrupted Malaysian Grand Prix, before signing up to be Pirelli’s tyre test driver for 2011.

Sadly, he was unable to find his way back onto the Formula 1 grid, but has since forged a very successful career from alternative racing series.
His experience in helping to develop cars across all categories of racing could be a crucial factor as Lola attempt to hit the ground running in Formula E.
