Quartararo debuted in MotoGP with Petronas Yamaha SRT at the 2019 Grand Prix of Qatar, despite winning one Moto2 race and setting a best finish of 10th in the standings. He never won a Moto3 race but Quartararo took his first MotoGP victory at the 2020 Grand Prix of Spain at Jerez.
